I know it'a over still I cling, I don't know where
This year's thrown up some cracking albums. Been listening to:

The National - High Violet
Avi Buffalo - Avi Buffalo
Plan B - The defamation of Strickland Banks
Black Keys - Brothers

All belters IMO, any other recommendations?
Not heard a really good hip hop album for a while.
Cheers.

can't think of anyone from this year, but if you missed out on bombay bicycle club's debut last summer, i'd recommend that.

not what you asked - but a great album.

The Beastie's Hot Sauce Committee Part One should be out soon

Cheers, I've heard a couple of tracks by Bombay BC, and they sound good, so I'll try that out.
As for The Beastie's, I've always loved them, so I'll be on that. I think Outkast are releasing an album later this year too. I was hoping Mos Def would have something new out, but not heard anything (apart from Gorillaz stuff).

-- Sun May 16, 2010 6:18 pm --

Shit, I forgot about them. That is my next album, cheers Milo.

Laura Veirs - July Flame.

It's gone straight into my top ten records of all time, saw her in Manchester in January. Beautiful and amazing.

Sounds good pearcey,is the song reflective of the album?

Oddly not, my favourite track 'Where are you Driving' is probably a better reflection of the album as a whole, it's more 'folky' and her voice just soars.
This song has had me in tears so many times, it just hits me somewhere I've never been hit before.

The High Wire – The Sleep Tape
Beach House – Teen Dream
Caribou - Swim
Sambassadeur – European
The Radio Dept – Clinging to a Scheme
Stornoway – Beachcombers Windowsill

I've not heard all of these in full but the tracks I have listened to have been very good.

You could do worse than Jason Derulo if you like r & b pop type stuff.
