It is a lot different than strolling down to your local library (polling station) to vote in our elections. A friendly chat with the people handing out your voting paper and crossing you off the list, then pop into the ramshackle but practical booth and mark a cross on the ballot with the pencil that is retained by a piece of string to avoid pilfering. Fold ballot in half and pop it into the box (mine is the modern fold out type) a cheery word with the party helpers on the door, then off to do a spot of shopping without fear of not returning home.I’d last two minutes before being shot voting over there today as I’m not able to keep my mouth shut, which may come as a shock...
I have travelled extensively in the USA and it is a great place to visit with lovely hospitable people, but live there no bloody way. “The right to bear arms” should be removed from the constitution as it is completely outdated and all weapons should be confiscated. It will never happen of cause for a whole variety of reasons, so I will stick to the leafy suburbs of Manchester UK thank you very much.
