What the fuck are you on about? You aren’t special. I don’t bother reading your posts these days as a rule as they’re mainly a load of shite and no one will win an argument with you as you’ll just drone on down your own demented furrow arguing white was black if you thought it would get you attention/internet points. You’re not special. I made my post in response to Damocles.

That’s embarrassing pal and now you’ve read it again, you can clearly see I’m commenting in relation to someone else. Especially as Damocles picked up on it, replied and received a second reply from me. It’s not all about you.

A) You didn't quote anyone 'in response' unless you don't know how quoting ACTUALLY works.

B) Damocles was responding my post about politicians and you were responding to that, itself and

C) My post still stands in isolation to yours.

Yes, your little kick off WAS embarrassing.

I. Did. Not. Read. Your. Post.

I posted in response to Damocles.

You’ve now made a tit of yourself and also said “literally nobody has said that” about something that was literally said on the previous page by someone that wasn’t you.

It’s not about you.

Yes, you'd expect a person who has been in politics since his 30s(40 years) to have a 'perfect' night against someone who has 36 years less experience than him.

But sidestep all you like about what 'mediocre' means in political terms.
I don't know which thesauruses inhabit your bookshelves B but I'm quietly confident none of them will have mediocre as a synonym for perfect. Antonym yes, but not synonym.
Unusual departure for you that one, normally you articulate better than that. Gotta agree with @cjn on that particular semantic.

After everything Trump has done to pull the US out of climate change treaties and destroy the EPA, the idea that he cares about the planet or the environment is absolutely laughable.
What a stupid comment.

Literally NOBODY has said that.

You're making a post for 'soundbite'.

To make the point of my post more laboured for you to understand "Literally no one on this board has said #45 cares about the planet".

Does that help...? Shall I make it a bigger font??

Aw, good.

All politicians care about people and the planet. Including Trump, Biden, Obama, etc.

The biggest lie in politics is that all politicians are power hungry despots who don't give a shit about anybody but themselves. It's just a way for people to sway others to their side.

In reality the difference between most politicians is that their idea of how to go about helping the people and the planet are radically different. Don't confuse the two.
Welcome back, not seen you posting in any of the forums I have been inhabiting for a while.

I agree with the all of that with the exception of the current incumbent (tautology alert?).

I think you will find that @Damocles has made that very point in the last two pages.

As a politician of 40 years if you make no gaffes in political debate, which should be standard against a politician with 4 years experience, you shouldn't be trying that hard with the amount of knowledge you have.

"Shouldn't be trying" should be a mediocre baseline for this to start with and by result would be a 'perfect night' against a novice.

You make me 'drill down' on my meaning...? Okay.

Damocles has you stupid person and I’ve even quoted it for you previously. This is why I usually try and avoid entering into conversation with you, you’re patently ill. You back yourself into a corner and then try and argue your way out of it whether you’re right or wrong. Just give it a rest, you were confused and wrong, we get it.

I think people generally overrate the impact of debates, but Trump has put himself in a really dumb position. He's lowered the bar for Biden so much that all he needs to do to exceed expectations is to just go up there be a normal sounding, non-dementia brained, politician with a few good lines. And he will. Biden is not a great debater, but he's done a million of these and will be very well prepared. He's also legitimately not senile, that was always just a dumb right wing smear that people ran with.

Meanwhile, most people who don't pay attention to politics haven't seen much unfiltered Trump recently. So much of the news and clips people consume about him are sanitized to a huge degree, and generally speaking when people start to see a lot of him in uncut form, just riffing about nonsense, they don't like what they see and his poll numbers tend to go down afterwards.

Good post and a number of thoughtful (albeit wholly biased against Trump) commentators have argued this precisely -- that all networks should cover all of Trump's public appearances in full to prevent the sanitization of him and his message. The hard part is debating a serial liar because Biden will need to figure which lies to fact check in real time (if he can) and which to let slide. Someone described debating a serial liar as "like trying to play Carnegie Hall, only there's a guy in the front row with an airhorn."
