Well, I would never have guessed...

Both halves - for the sake of the United States - and to initiate any hope of healing - judicial proceedings against Trump are almost certain to further divide the country. So let him be.

At the same time, if Trump has committed crimes (I believe he probably has) - half of me, wants to see him punished to the full extent of the law. I detest Trump with every fibre of my being.
Whatever best leaves him ineffectual and exiled in Florida.

I watched joe introducing his team earlier , immigrants ? How dare he , piss will be boiling

I wanted him to end by saying there will be no children in cages

Joe's a tougher man than me - faced with decisions like this my thoughts would always be " Can't I just have the litter? I know I'll take them all. Don't wanna break siblings up" - but I am a soft arse around pets

If he isn’t prosecuted it is a clear demonstration that the rule of law doesn’t apply to someone just because a lot of people like him. That would be the most dangerous outcome by far. He needs to be prosecuted with every minute in court televised if only to methodically present the evidence to the public which will hopefully deradicalise those of his followers that aren’t too far gone. Probably not that many to be fair.

You think that will get their piss boiling?

Wait until he announces that it is again illegal to marry your immediate family members.

Thought about the pardon situation myself a few weeks ago but then after looking into the affect Nixon's pardon had on Gerald Ford's reputation, I came to the suspicion that Pence might refrain from the same action if he thought he had a serious chance of running in 2024.
The opposite is true though. If Pence was serious about running in 2024, pardoning Trump would be the single most favourable thing he could to ensure the support of those who voted for Trump this time

Perhaps, but you would expect them to support the Republican nomination anyway. I suppose it's different from Ford in that he would have to win the republican nomination, but considering the state of the party and the fact previous V.P.s (that choose to run) have historically done well in recent times (H.W. Bush, Gore, Biden) it might be risking more than he would gain.

He needs to those the battle states that Trump lost to swing back, so creating some distance from the outright criminal stuff but keeping continuity with the small government politics could be a better strategy in the long run.
