It is that not easy when it comes to publicly distributable money, unfortunately. That normally must go through congressional appropriation/approval, hence the need for the CARES Act in the first place. Mnuchin is locking this money in to the Treasury’s General Fund for a reason. He could earmark it for distribution — either direct or via business support — prior to the transition date but is intentionally choosing not to do so because locking up yet another source of funding for direct stimulus forces the Biden admin in to congressional negotiation. They want to funnel everything Biden does through McConnell (barring both runoff GA senate seats going to the Dems).

Rather than edit my post I thought this should stand alone. There is a much later photo of the two of them wearing jumpers and laughing uproariously and looking rather sweet. Apparently they both have mental age of a five year old and are living in a care home suited to their needs.
Thankyou, I was justing typing a rather contrite post to say that apparently they are both really sweet and beloved by their carers; enjoy giving hugs and laugh all day.

SDNY is going to focus on the completely non-political issue of whether he defrauded the IRS, Deutsche Bank or his insurers by lying about his financial condition or the value of his assets. As I said before, it's Federally-unpardonable, specific to his time before he was President, easy to understand, a reasonably simple standard of black and white proof, not a he said/she said (as any of the sexual assault charges would inevitably end up being), and, as with other mob kingpins who get tripped up on tax evasion or RICO, works to deny criminals their freedom even if their worse crimes go unpunished.
