Because of Faithless Electors! What ? I didnt know that , how can that be allowed in a democratic country ?
It’s an absolute fucking joke that this can even happen at all and yet another example of how the US Constitution simply isn’t fit for purpose.Because of Faithless Electors!
Each state gets a certain number of votes. Each vote is tansferred to an individual and all those individuls go to the state electoral college and cast their votes.
'
Georgia has 16 electoral votes. What that means in practice is that 16 people will meet on Dec 14th and each cast a vote for who will be President. They each sign their ballot and all the ballots are sent to Capitol Hill (to the Senate).
Only ballots received before dec 23 are valid.
On Jan 6th the ballots that have been recieved in time and declared valid will be counted by Congress and whoever has the most votes will be inaugurated as President on Jan 20.
Now here's the thing. The 16 electors in Georgia can each vote for whoever they want and their vote will be valid if it is signed and gets to the Senate before Dec 23.
Just because Biden won Georgia doesn't mean that he automatically gets 16 votes.
Electors that don't vote according to the election results are called "Faithless Electors".
In 2016 Trump got votes from 5 faithless electors. This time he'll need around 50.

I said I wouldn’t @ you again @Damocles but I genuinely interested to see if you think Trump is simply a run of the mill POTUS and not a wannabe despot
This is a bad post. Bad posts annoy me.Because of Faithless Electors!

No they arent. They are acronyms. Nothing official about themExcept they’re official terms unlike Bantz and Bojo
I'm hope one of them declares they voted for Deez NuttsThis is a bad post. Bad posts annoy me.
On a variety of levels this is incomplete not the least of which is the varying state laws which prescribe what happen to electors who are faithless — typically, either nullification and replacement or in some cases criminal prosecution. Also none of the seven faithless electors voted for Trump last time — they voted for Kasich, Sanders, Colin Powell (3), Ron Paul and Faith Spotted Eagle.
It’s over.
And as was stated the last time this came up, the right of the states to draw up and enforce these laws was explicitly and wholeheartedly endorsed in a Supreme Court ruling this September. This is a bad post. Bad posts annoy me.

LMK and I'll PM you the recipe. Left over from my Cajun gran from Thibidoux, Louisiana and passed down through the family.
Absolutely - that would be great mate (genuinely).Unless you were making some oblique sexual reference . . .
You reap what you sow, don’t you, bitch?
It’s amazing what people will believe when they want to.Oh fuck. These idiots did actually believe the fraud lies. I knew people like Dax did (hence him “waiting to see evidence”, then going into hiding with some of the other pillocks), but it still surprises me that genuine human adults believe that shit.
This is a great read in the WaPo on the post election shenanigansIt’s amazing what people will believe when they want to.
Such a bunch of c*nt's.
Raffensperger is actually a Republican, but because he's refusing to peddle GOP election conspiracy theories, the leadership have hung him out to dry. These f*ckers are going to get someone killed before this is all over.
Yeah.So you’re saying they’re not all the same? Odd.
