Because election checkers from both sides are pouring over every one and checking there are no duplicates and or fakes.

Like they do every election.

Because the count is chock full of both gop and dem overseers (all lawyers) and they can and do check any ballot.

Then once the count is complete, 5% of all cast ballots are randomly selected and double checked again.

Thanks, that's more the counting of them, i was meaning more the storing of them until they count.

They've obviously been sending them in for a few weeks so what is to stop someone walking past a room that stores them and throwing an extra thousands envelopes in for Dems or Reps.

I know it sounds a silly question but was just wondering how the process works with mail voting. In person voting is simple, ballot goes in a locked box.

Im assuming he's in Washington DC. Which means he could speak as late as 2am UK time? 9pm their time.

That should be enough for Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona to all announce. which would be 279.
I *think* he's in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware but that's very close to DC so same timezone either way

Nice part of the world. Our kid's in Oakland. i take it your name is a reference to the Mad Dog in the Fog, had a couple of beers in there myself

No it's just cuz we never see the sky here, just fog, so I can't be sky blue! Oakland is different -- always sunny!

Sadly Mad Dog closed in May after 30 years. They plan to re-open in a different location post-pandemic I think. The City bar is actually Maggie McGarry's on Grant in North Beach but I don't really care for it -- no food, TVs small and in weird places. My pub is in Marin County (San Rafael) -- The Mayflower -- run by a wonderful Palace fan. Interior looks like an English pub because it was actually stripped, packed up and shipped from there to here, and then reassembled.

You have to have faith in the democratic institutions. This voting process and the mechanisms are the same ones that happened in 2016, were they corrupt then?

If a major party in the US could corrupt a vote, there is nothing to say the Tories/Labour/any other western nation government has or could. I don’t believe that has happened.

You misread my intention of the question, it wasn't an accusation that it's happened, it was more of a hypothetical scenario to understand how the process works more.

"The campaign has sent out six emails to supporters since midnight asking for money. Each of the solicitations has included the false claim that Democrats are trying to “steal” the election." (CNN)

The names and signatures are checked against the voting log mate and their choice entered into a huge voting machine.

You/one can’t just print your own with a made up name and hand it in.

There’s zero evidence of voter fraud this year or any of the previous two decades of mail in ballots being used (apart from 27% of ballots being lost on the way back into the counting rooms in south Florida - which oddly led to a Trump shock out performance in Miami Dade and carried Florida by 300,000)

Biden 1/6 now

can we crack open the champagne yet ?

Pictures next time.

A new batch of votes reported this hour in Georgia has cut Trump’s lead there to just under 90,000 votes.
