I'm not referring to his worst excesses - more things like the 'I could call the BP CEO no problem, I could get that money, sell him a permit, I'd get that money' story that went around. He was saying how he didn't want to do it. There are quite a few examples of this. Shooting someone and getting away with it. He definitely wasn't saying that was a good thing. When people have a hate figure in mind, winding that audience up pays off handsomely for the media. Sometimes, we are the ones not quite doing our research.

I mean, he was heavily criticised for saying he'd won on the night. But the grammatical content of his remark was hardly significantly different in content to some of the statements made by the Biden camp.

Damocles a long time ago said we needed to calm down. He was right. Unfortunately, due to the high emotional and psychological demands involved in admitting that to myself, and finding the kernel of truth, whilst still understanding and being true to my POV that Damocles needed to understand the truths in why some of us truly feared and loathed him, I never really was able to, until a few days back, when I made peace with the chance of America more or less mandating another four years of Trump's willfully divisive and destructive attacks on fairness and the practice of mutual respect between individuals, and his sustained attacks on the institutions that protect citizens regardless of their affiliation or any other facet of their identity or status.
I read this last sentence five times, and I still have no idea what you're trying to say.

The fact that you are somehow trying to justify "maybe I should go fuck Joe's wife, and then knife Hunter" as acceptable rhetoric because, you know, he never did it, makes me question whether I should care what you're trying to say.

The "Damo was right" sentence doesn't help either (news flash: Damo was completely fucking wrong).

So I'm going to guess this is religiously motivated based off of his twitter?

Is this shit (and the other shit again based off of his twitter) legitimately in the bible or are they pulling this out of their arse?
There is a basis for this type of deplorable thinking in the bible; though, that is based on very strict, patriarchal interpretation of the supposed teachings of Jesus (mixed with much older teachings from the old testament).

But there’s also a basis for all sorts of abhorrent and positive ‘rules’ that these same people often reject.

I was sharing his post to highlight the *practical*, non-religious basis for why people like this **** often persist with these beliefs: maintaining subjugation of women.

It is often a case of cherry-picking the bits that meet their practical desires and ignoring the passages that are unseemly or inconvenient (like loving thy neighbour, not coveting they neighbour’s wife, supporting the poor, or practicing religious tolerance). And especially the parts that contradict the passages that establish rules they like.

And there are many non-religious men that think this same way for purely cultural reasons.

Even if he is in the minority, the fact that anyone still holds these beliefs is deeply troubling (at least to me). I have met a few people like this in a few countries—it is not unique to the US.

Anyway, just thought the map and tweet helped illustrated the potential real world consequences of these backward, authoritarian beliefs.

I would like to thank Donald Trump. I have learnt more about American politics in the last week than I did in the first 40 years of life.
Likewise - although I wasn’t happy to learn today that he could run again in 2024 as I thought that was it after any stint as president - he’s going to be like Jason isn’t he from Friday 13th

Haha. Look at the maps. I'm giving you science here. Wisdom, and the truth, will set us all free. Just sit back and learn ;)
Yeah, the science...

- country people good and love god and county

- city people selfish.

I’ll pass if it’s all the same.

This is the worst take in 700+ pages.

Not going to celebrate until the fat orange c*nt is dragged from the White House by his ears.
Said the same this morning.

I’ll celebrate when the parasitic racist fascist prick’s arse is on the street and Biden is lounging with his feet up on the Resolute desk siping Cognac and Harris is glancing through briefing binders whilst power shuffling in her chucks through the halls of the West Wing with Ray Charles blasting from her AirPods.

We’ve really only just finished phase two of four comprising the election. We’re now entering the perilous stage three of Trump’s post-election subversion attempts. Stage four is his actual removal and the inauguration of Biden and Harris.

But I will raise a pint (of non-alcoholic beer, unfortunately) and dance (well, arrhythmically move around) when it is officially called for Biden.
