The USA is not coming out of this fiasco with any shred of dignity. The senior Republicans have let the democratic process down big time. Our system is far from perfect but In modern times I can not recall our political parties behaving so disgracefully.A mix of Cambridge Analytica, Facebook and a foreign agent manipulating voters.
Cambridge Analytica again and the Tory party cover up.The USA is not coming out of this fiasco with any shred of dignity. The senior Republicans have let the democratic process down big time. To all who said 'but the system of checks and balances won't allow it...' can I just point out how spectacularly wrong you were.Wow! I've talked before of my horror at watching the dismantling of democracy before our very eyes over the course of this thread; well, in truth, over the last year or so but I am still amazed and appalled by the brazen way that it is escalating. I fear for how this will turn out. If it were a movie I suspect that people would watch and think "Thank goodness it's not like that in real life": but here's where we are.
The judicial branch is checking and balancing as planned. The “Fourth Branch” (the bureaucratic) has been somewhat more uneven but that’s really been due to the problems in the executive and isn’t there to check or balance anyway. It’s the breakdown of legislative (and executive) bipartisanship that’s gotten us to this point. To all who said 'but the system of checks and balances won't allow it...' can I just point out how spectacularly wrong you were.
I think your post is pretty fair comment, but it’s equally fair to say that the judicial branch hadn’t been subject to an especially exacting test so far since 3rd November! The judicial branch is checking and balancing as planned. It’s true but they were never going to be because Biden’s win was comprehensive.I think your post is pretty fair comment, but it’s equally fair to say that the judicial branch hadn’t been subject to an especially exacting test so far since 3rd November!
And because the pleadings they have been required to determine upon have been so utterly pitiful. It’s true but they were never going to be because Biden’s win was comprehensive.
Most have gone into hiding. Are there any Republican supporters out there who are still not embarrassed by this?
Of course, I’m asking the Blue family.
Give it another 10 minutes ;-)Can I exhale yet?
I'll try.Give it another 10 minutes ;-)
And that oughta do it . . .
