This tale of a President descending into madness and his enablers has already been told in “The Final Days”, the follow-up to “All The President’s Men.” Trump’s lunacy and what he would become was easy and obvious to see, but it helps that I’m a Watergate buff who’s read just about every halfway decent book by nearly all the players in what was once the most serious crisis of Presidential authority in US history since the outbreak of the Civil War (now surpassed).

Managed to get my hands on an original hardback copy of Fred Emery's book on Watergate a couple of years ago. Was shipped from the US and in perfect condition. Im sad enough to say that I was thrilled to bits

No. Either nobody really knew or no one wanted to be responsible for the mess up.

No - I think the point is that no one knows who was pulling the strings that day. This bit toward the end sums it up:

But even people in Trumpworld had questions.

“Do we know what happened yet?” a senior White House official asked.

“How it happened is still kind of a mystery to me,” a senior campaign official said.

“This is all very us,” another campaign official said. “I’m not shocked or surprised at all.” If luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity, this was the opposite. “That’s how you get the Four Seasons fucking Total Landscaping bullshit.”

Evidence of fraud at last @Dax777

I wonder how many fraudulent votes Trump got in states that he won where the governor, state AG and state legislature were all pro Trump? I’m sure we’ll never find out but I’d be willing to bet that Biden’s 7 million majority in the popular vote would be a lot higher if all Trump’s illegal votes were removed and all those that wanted to vote but couldn’t due to voter suppression were allowed to.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we find out as soon as the **** carks it and all his minions release their books on him.

Totally normal

Looking at the stories further down the page on the Axios link it’s becoming clear that even his most loyal sycophants are contradicting him, presumably in a feeble attempt to distance themselves ahead of the inevitable investigations after 20 Jan. Barr, Pompeo and McConnell have all gone on record disputing his fraud claims and even Kushner is making himself scarce by staying in the Middle East. The only loyalists left are the complete loons. It’s like a cross between the last days of Rome and Hitler’s bunker in April 1945.

And this is where it gets dangerous.
