2022/2023 Accounts - Record Revenues & Profit - Annual Report

Funny when you speak to a red and they cant accept that our revenue is bigger.

“How can citehs revenue be more than united?? Its united for gods sake. Cheats. 115”

Their little brains wont accept that no one cares that united ‘used’ to be good. My 8 and 11 year old kids know nothing different than City being amazing and united average.

Yeah united will always be big in global terms , i can accept that no problem, but what these reds need to get their heads round that City are also a pretty big deal these days
It's simple really. They still believe that because they have the most seats on a matchday they must have the most revenue. They refuse to accept that the industry has moved on from fans through the turnstile. The fact is it has, as demonstrated below matchday accounts for the least revenue for either club.

Didn't somebody on here say that the new Arena will make the club an extra £25m a year? I'm not sure how true that is but when you add in the the extended North Stand, hotel, and the new City Square complex we could be looking at revenues heading towards the £1 billion mark in a few years if broadcasting income and prize money continues to go up, and we remain relatively successful on the pitch.

It goes to show that when Mansour and Khaldoon get involved with a project it ends up turning into gold. Look at what they have done with City since 2008, they went to the States and founded New York City Fc who now have an MLS title to their name. Then over in Spain plucky underdogs Girona are sat on top of La Liga, they probably won’t end up winning it but will end up with Champions League football. Attention to detail, ambition and drive to be the best. There is a reason why United, Liverpool and the Premier League are running scared but for some reason can’t seem to proceed with hanging their made up 115 charges for accounts from 2009.

Surprised the rags matchday is nearly double. They must sell a fucking lot of merchandise and food and drink.

Seeing as the fans hate the Glazer's so much yet spend 130 odd million when attending the swamp.

Cant see any rise for the Glazer's selling
Yea 32.7% more seats but 61.9% more revenue.
I think they have more corporate seats though and charge more for them.

It's been more or less double for years.
There matchday income has been in the range £107m - £111m from 2016-2022 (except covid impacted).
Ours has been in the £50+m range over the same period before hitting £70+mil this year.

I don't know why theirs has jumped.

Good to see those annual season ticket price hikes were neccesary...

Could be looking at a £78 million profit and a ticket price freeze.

Phenomenally ran football club, just wish they showed us match going fans even the slightest bit of respect.

Someone just couldn't help their bitter selves in the headline....

The more they write that City are topping rags achievements on & off the pitch the more it will gradually sink in & be believed & accepted as the norm

So look at it as they’re unwittingly doing us a favour :) :)

If you are looking at those figures and have responsibility for further increasing revenue then the obvious 'weakness' is match day income compared to say United and Liverpool.

It you take Liverpool as the easier one to compare as our respective capacities have been very similar most of the time then why do they out perform us? Simple really, they have a much lower proportion of season ticket holders than us so far more tickets are sold at match day prices and presumably corporate and hospitality. The club is tackling this by not issuing new SCs so the overall number is lower than previously due to non renewals and by significantly raising match day prices. A test of this strategy will be the number of *NEW* SCs issued when the expanded NS opens. My feeling is that the proportion will be closer to Liverpool's than it even is now (& that is lower than where we were say five years ago).

...any word from the club on the utter shambles that was Istanbul yet? If what unfolded had happend to a certain club at the wrong end of the east Lancs Rd, the club involved would have made sure this had been brought up in parliament by now - not that I'm advocating such a course of action and waste of taxpayer money.

It would be nice to have had some kind of acknowlegement from the club about what people had to endure though. Unfortunately all City are interested in doing is sucking up to uefa and hanging the club's supporters out to dry at any given opportunity - the most heinous example of which was when the club hierarchy saw fit to publish an open letter, that put its own supporters on the same level as the feral filth supoorters of the club refered to earlier in this post.

Not sure they're quite that greedy, Liverpool are a real outlier in terms of how poorly they treat fans.
