2022 World Cup Discussion

Luke Tuffs, who is the former manager of Leatherhead FC is being rather naive when he says:
"It's only a yellow card. How many yellow cards does Harry Kane get for mistimed challenges and things like that? Probably not that many, through his career and I think it would have made it an even stronger message if we carried on."

Does he not realise that FIFA or whoever would make sure that Kane would get another yellow card just because he defied them.

Or is that me being cynical? :-)

Having considered it carefully, the only way England can spread the one love message without falling foul of FIFA rules is to have the rainbow heart tattooed on the players’ foreheads. Or are they just bunch of hypocrites that talk the talk, but aren’t willing to have the face tattoos to back it up?

At least Gareth and Harry K should do it given their prominent roles. Maybe Maguire too, given the available real estate.

Did he say the stairs in the stands go up to the top tier?

The point he is making that it's hard to watch when the BBC have done nothing more than be political and try to prove just how against the WC they are whilst sending a small army of freeloaders over to enjoy it.

That being said I am watching it waiting for a car crash because I can't see this festival of handwringing being disrupted by football of any note ;)
Ok, great. That was yesterday. It’ll get a bit tedious if that‘s all he posts about. He wasn’t going to watch, yet joined in saying how shit it was throughout the game.

Fortunately, Engerland are on ITV, so the BBC bullshit people want to spout isn’t relevant.

I wonder what the cricketers will be doing in Pakistan in December? Sky will cover the cricket with no mention of human rights, LGBT, systemic subordination of women, violence against women almost an obligation, religious intolerance, extra judicial killings of non-Muslims, forced conversions especially of young girls and different laws for different faiths.

When I asked the first question I rather suspect the answer will be, given what they did last month when they went, and the complete lack of ‘media outrage‘ that followed, they’ll just be playing cricket.

It's just not cricket.
