FIFA world cup rules state stadiums must have a minimum capacity of 40,000Sounds like there are too many stadiums and they are too big. Fewer smaller stadiums with a capacity of 25,000 each would probably have sufficed. It's such a waste of energy and resources. It's a shame.
Not saying you’re wrong (genuinely have no idea) but a guy on an Athletic podcast claimed that the Nepalese workers get paid about the same as at home but they went to Qatar as they had the promise of regular work rather than having to compete for far fewer jobs in Nepal.Worth noting the poorly paid workers earn 3x as much as they do in their home countries. But I rarely see threads on how we should be helping the poor of the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Nepal.
People only seem to care about their pay in Qatar and the UAE which shows how well the media has conditioned us.
As much as your post makes complete sense, it still winds me up that it was so blatently corrupt in how Qatar was awarded it.There are rules against political statements on shirts. In my view rightly so. There’s already far too much politics getting dragged into places it doesn’t belong. Just play the games ffs.
The England or the FA team didn’t pick Qatar, but that’s where the competition is. Just go and play there, that’s not an endorsement of a regime or its policies. It’s just a place where the games are happening. There’s no need to engage with local politics or to try change the world. If someone asks about gay rights or whatever, it’s fine to express a view - probably one based on the modern English values of tolerance and live and let live, etc. There’s no need to go out of the way to talk about this. It’s a non issue in England, except perhaps amongst a few bigots and certain religious communities which are a small minority.
Just go represent England (there’s already an England badge on the shirt so no need for extra symbols and armbands, etc). The England badge should embody our nation and its values completely. There’s no need to pick out certain elements and give those particular emphasis. If any values exist in England then they’re represented by the three lions.
664 dollars in Nepal. Figures vary between 800 and 3,600 dollars in QatarNot saying you’re wrong (genuinely have no idea) but a guy on an Athletic podcast claimed that the Nepalese workers get paid about the same as at home but they went to Qatar as they had the promise of regular work rather than having to compete for far fewer jobs in Nepal.
Talked about this the other day. Ye imperialist shitebags should get a world cup, the excuse has been the one stadium per city bullshit. Qatar have 6 in Doha.FIFA world cup rules state stadiums must have a minimum capacity of 40,000
Mind you in that rule book it also states only 2 stadiums per city can host a world cup game. Doha has 6......
He’s probably gone back to being a total **** again I should think. He wouldn’t want to be a gay migrant worker for too long.I wonder what Mr Infantiley is today?
Have the home nations got any referees at this competition, or are our top referees still not up to the required standard?
