Politics and political agitators, through social and other media outlets have latched onto football because of its popularity and footballs popularity is because of social and other media. So unfortunately it is a never ending circle and old football fans, like me, and maybe you, who think politics should not be in football and remember when it wasn't are a dying breed. At my age I think the worlds gone daft and when people get offended by the slightest thing I really can't understand their softness. Can you imagine social media being around when Swales ran City. There would be some interesting threads on the Bluemooon of its day, there are too many moaners on here now and we have been the best team and best ran club in England for the last ten years. I will now get off my soapbox;-)Politics aand religion should have absolutely nothing to do with sport or the people who want to enjoy it , countries should adapt so everyone is welcome , if they cannot do that , they should not hold prestigious competitions.

agree - at some point it had to be held in an Arab country as they are part of the confederation. its good to share it around and jsut because we dont hold their belief systems should preclude them. you could argue USA doesnt deserve it based on stupid gun laws, anti-abortion laws in some state, drug culture... etcPersonally, I couldn’t give a shit where in the world it’s played, it’s the World Cup & it has to be played somewhere, so if it’s Qatar, Iceland, Oz, England or anywhere else, why In the world does it matter? Still 11 blokes from one country trying to beat 11 blokes from another country regardless of the location is it not?
What about the massive footballing nation of USA? Or the huge country of Japan? Both of those have held World Cups, so did they feel ‘false’ too?
You’re entitled to not enjoy it bud, I just don’t understand (& don’t need to) your reasoning
I can enjoy watching Sunday league games mate, if it’s football, I’m likely to enjoy it
