2022 World Cup Discussion

I've really enjoyed this world cup. It's been different and I think that has made it really enjoyable. The football has been good, the final was a cracker and we haven't got the 6 week wait for the season to start back up.

I'd have it mid season again 100%, the players wouldn't be exhausted after a long season plus I think there has been a high intensity to the games.

Of course the flip side is come the end of the season the players could be fatigued but I can't see that being an issue as they've kind of had a break in going to the world cup plus they'll get a little break on return.

But I think it has been a real success and you can only applaud Qatar for it.

The journey is nearly over, sat now at Hamed Airport, Doha, Qatar and genuinely a little sad it has come to an end. As someone who spent the whole month here did 17 games and attended all 8 stadiums I can honestly say you won't see anything like it ever again. The close proximity of the stadiums meaning more than one game could be attended in a day. Organisation top notch, people too and my digs for last 17 nights £35 a night. At least I can get back to the two loves of my life City and my boy ( in no particular order) ha ha.

Glad you had a great time mate. Think your posts have been really informative of what the actual fan experience has been. Safe journey back.

it was an average world cup, with some average football really, but with a small selection of outstanding games (not necessarily for quality).
