2022 World Cup Discussion

Enjoy this World Cup everyone the next one in USA, Canada and Mexico expands the tournament to 48 teams from 32. 16 groups of 3. Top 2 progress into a last 32 knockout. Fucking thrilling.
Still not 100% it’s going to be the 3 team groups although it was voted for, apparently worried there could be an element of collusion. However, just 2 group games and a proper knockout tournament after that could be more competitive than the turgid shit we will see this year where you can virtually pick the teams getting out of the groups (barring a couple).

From here watching it on telly where you can soak up the games while doing whatever you want at the time then really the experience should be no different than any other world cup.

nowt will ever top the ones between 82-94 so you either watch it and enjoy the football regardless of the venue or don't.

For those going I expect it to be a some what different and possibly stale expereince pre and post match socually if matchday drinking is a big part of your day

I doff my cap to the mighty England football team ......who have won one fucking tournament more than Wales, ever, in the history of football & that was because it was held in England.
Go England, you are awesome.
I can't sing by the way :)
Yeah but really before the late 60s and you got your own road signs wales was like a big extra English county so you won it by proxy in 66 ;-)

If you were going to Qatar with the intention of getting rat arsed, you’d be mad as a box of frogs. Given the possible punishments on offer, I’d be staying well away from the booze if I was out there. Obviously, because I’m over here, I’ll be on the sauce whenever I’m watching any of it!

Not a chance England will win it, Pickford “pinging” the ball out of play, Slabhead, Dier and fatty Shaw in defence lacking pace, an underperforming Rice and Mount in midfield and no need to comment on Sterling’s current form. You’ll be hanging around a culture-less country with fuck all to do for a couple of weeks, think it will be boring as fuck but will still definitely be watching, have a good trip though, you could always get a three hour flight to Cyprus.
Small hop to Dubai for a legal drink….but don’t get pissed or your cabbie will take you to the cop shop.

If you get time it would be great to read some updates/info on how the experience goes....get pics too :-)
Being a Luddite I struggle with stuff like that but I will try and do posts when I can and my lad who is there for the first week will help me. I'm taking in many other games while there because of the close proximity of the stadiums. Got tickets for matches at 7 out of the 8 stadiums and repeat visits to some.

Yes to me itr does, as it's just another issue piled on top of whats already a shit sandwich. Whats to stop them from doing other 'uturns' on issues over the coming days. For 12 years they have said 'we will serve alcohol at grounds' and 48 hours before the event they decide to not do that...

It's unclear what other things such as the issues around homosexuality they will 'uturn' on.
Spot on.
When the cunts say they are outlawing all lbgt demos and Kane is arrested in the tunnel for refusing to take off his rainbow arm band what then?
