2022 World Cup Discussion

This World Cup has had one of the best group stages so far. Besides upsets, even most of the drawn games (Morocco-Croatia) have been entertaining. Hoping that Ronaldo puts his issues behind him and emerges as a Champion. Would love to hear Messi and United fans cry.
Can we not have Crap7 injured early so he gets a medal but contributes nothing to the win? The British media will be full of him in a rag shirt if he does anything worthwhile.

I think the world cup has been great so far. Two huge upsets. England doing well. I think this is the hardest year to call a winner that I can remember. France look great, but teams rarely win it back to back.

Yeah, I expect France to be there or thereabouts

Too hard to really pick a winner though. Look at the France side everybody said would walk the euros, with Benzema, Kante etc added to this team now and they got sent home by Switzerland.

Once it gets to the knockout stages, it really just depends on the day, some bad decision or a shootout or anything can send a better side out of the tournament.

That’s the beauty though, you can just enjoy it going along, pretty much guaranteed there’s going to be a few big shocks along the way to get the excitement going.

the people criticising the world cup being in Qatar for human rights are the biggest hyprotrics in the world, along with those using LGBT rights as a stealth weapon of hate against Muslims.

If people really gave a shiet about human rights they would not use or consume

most present day smart phones and devices.
not drink coffee or coco cola
eat rice..
many illegal drugs..

the list is endless.

We should just stick the the original reason, the world cup is In Qatar for corrupted geo political reasons.

I think this competition is where Messi and Ronaldo's international career fizzles out.....
I think so

Although I have this awful feeling that Ronaldo is going to be rejuvenated by his release from Man United, and roll back the years in terms of his goalscoring, no matter how he plays.

But the reality is that he’s almost 38 and time has probably caught up with him.

he can still stick the ball in the net though, so it depends if they have the quality to carry him. We know United don’t.

One thing that this World Cup has got going for it is the amount of travel between venues. I can only imagine what the USA/Mexico/Canada carbon footprint is going to be. Mind you, packing up the stadiums and flying them off to other countries sort of counters that

Much more physical and with far less shithousery than champions league games

When the PL restarts all this decent officiating will be forgotten and we will be back to waiting 5 mins for a VAR decision and rolling about on the floor without time being added on.

Thank you PGMOL

Having the world cup spread across 3 giant countries seems fucking idotic to me....

I fancy going to America for that one. Went Brazil and that was brilliant. The last 2 haven’t appealed although anyone who went to Russia i’ve spoken to said it was really good

Seems to be very much feast or famine this tournament. There's been some belting games but my god there's been some dross too. 34 goals in 14 matches so far. Which considering 15 of those 34 came in 2 games isn't great!

Made the right choice in the end. Well done again Jack!
