2022 World Cup Discussion

ITV have had one over on BBC these knockout games in terms of what's televised on what channel, they've got England again and they had all the tasty ties in the last 16

England have players that match France imo. Mbappe is on another planet agreed, but England can beat France.
Agreed. England have several match winners that can take a game away from France. Should be an even game but for all the Mbappe love/fear, in the 1/4 against PSG, it was Foden, not Mbappe ripping it up and I hope to see more on Saturday. Im having a big pool party with a load of mates coming round and watching both games which means I’m relatively confident.

Best thing is though, an England loss would be sad but it wouldn’t ruin my week like a City loss.

What time do you want me round there mate ?

I would agree with you, if we were playing the France that won the last World Cup. This version is light years away and although a good side with 1 exceptional player, I thin they are being a tad overrated by a few on here. I am going out on a limb and telling you now that England will win.

let's hope so

But Southgate has talent in the squad, but like in the first couple of games Foden was sat on the bench, i can see him back on the bench vs France for an extra defender in a 5.4.1, hope am wrong, but it's Southgate

honesty, who thinks England has any chance of beating France or even winning the world cup under Southgate.
I have a feeling it will be 5 at the back and Kane up front on his own, then we hope for a corner or free kick to lump the heavy mob up.

we will be chancing shadows vs France who will pass it around us then slip in Mbappé game over.
all the best teams have a midfield that will kill you with a creative pass or a one two on the edge of the box,
teams that open you up and have pace will be a mismatch for England.

can you win the world cup playing EFL championship football ?
With the players we now have we have more than enough to beat the French.

Keep Mbappe and Grezman quite and we can win the game and even if we don't we have our own match winners.

Ain't that the truth brother. I've seen England live a few times, seen England Youth a few times at Maine Road and even seen an English League v Scottish League game when the English League side was all English and it was basically an England friendly, yet City beating Liverpool on the 22nd will give me more joy than England winning the World Cup on the 18th.

Any team that has Giroud as a starter shouldn’t be that good but he’s been effective, will Southgate have the bollocks to go with his attacking players and have a proper attempt at winning or will he go defensive? I think he’ll start the Dipper in midfield and that could be the downfall, this is France, not Wales or Senegal, it’s a level up and the Dipper isn’t good enough.

England losing a World Cup QF is less of a disappointment than City losing a PL game ?

Yes. England even losing a semi or even the final would not register anywhere near as much as City losing to Brentford did.

I’m actually shocked you deemed it necessary to check.
All day long, if England lose I’ll be over it as soon as the final whistle goes, England is a fleeting affair, City is the long serving marriage.
