2024 - a tough year or a good one?

I think the world in general there just seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel for many. I went to a very dark place a few months ago and struggled until I broke down in front of a good mate, thankfully that release had helped me immensely, I try to remove myself from anything that winds me up but it still happens occasionally sadly. Our new puppy is keeping me busy and my head from drifting, im looking forward to Xmas and hopefully a trip to Munich in June.
Dogs are the best cure for most things mate.
Amazing animal's.
The best on this planet imho..

Wait till that puppy is 1 or 2 years old.. and it becomes one of your best mates , if not the...

It'll set you reet mentally for a lot of stuff....

Nothing has really changed this year , good or bad and that is exactly how I prefer it. The last time me and my Mrs said it would be better to have a bit more going on in our lives it came back to bite us. If nothing really bad happens, consider it a good year.

It seems cliched but it is so true.

Unconditional love.

There is nothing like it.

Yup. My dogs 16, he’s got cushings disease and is very close to end of life, we’re hoping he makes it to the new year as he’s still in no pain and happy with himself.

We got him when my son was four and my daughter was two, they don’t remember a life without him. I’ve now got a 12 year old daughter as well.

Any time we’ve had trials and tribulations in our lives, and we’ve all been through it at times but particularly my elder son and daughter, he’s been there for us. You get infinitely more than you ever need to give and I don’t think people realise the level of intuition they have. It’s as if he’s always known the right time to give someone a cuddle or try and make them laugh.

I saw an old room 101 the other day where someone put “the short life of dogs” in there and I couldn’t agree more. I say that with a dog the age he is and just feel utterly blessed we’ve got a bit more time with him yet.

First time I’ve properly articulated that and now I’m a bit emotional!

The 80/20 rule usually applies.

This year, it’s hard to know which is which…80% good, 20% bad or vice versa?!

I’m going to be optimistic, even after Trump’s election and state maybe this year isn’t an 80/20 after all, but a 99/1 to the GOOD, because the wife and kids are golden and healthy and that’s really all that matters in the end…family & health!

If I could like your post twice mate I would.

Always had a dog in my life .
Born into my family with a dog around and can't imagine my life without one till I leave this world.

They literally are your best mate even if you don't realize it..

Ditto mate, brought up within a whole family of dog lovers, had christmases as a kid with sometimes up to eight of them in the house!

I wouldn’t want a home without one.

I find I’m struggling to shake illnesses off now. I had a chest infection at the start of the year that lasted 6 weeks and now I’ve got another wicked throat and cough that I’m struggling to shift. I had Covid last November and since then really.

Other than that I can’t grumble. Feb-November been good in general,
