2024 Grand National 13th April

I'm not sure what you mean by 'complicated morally', you are either against cruelty or not.........or is it selective cruelty and what social media gees you up on? When there are genuine issues of cruelty, you focus on horse racing.

In the 4.05 over the National fences, it was apparent early on that Reikers Island wasn't enjoying things and was pulled up. If a horse doesn't want to do it, there's nothing a jockey can do to make it, whip or no whip.

If you watched the 3.30 at Aintree, you would have seen a great finish where three horses gave everything to the line. I can assure you that although they had endured a great physical effort, none were at all distressed afterwards, actually very much the opposite.

Your points about horses being raced purely for money and entertainment, with the welfare of the horse ignored are well wide of the mark.

On the point of money, although there are considerable sums to be gained from racing, most owners don't actually profit from it. Another of your points that is exaggerated and inaccurate.

I wasn't aware that I was losing an argument. To the best of my ability, I've made points based on fact and not wild emotion.

“you don’t care because it’s in your interests not to.”

I'm sorry, but again you are simply ignoring what is said because it doesn't fit your narrative.

I said earlier that the vast majority of people connected with racing certainly do share your feelings about the death of a horse and I would be one of those.

As you don't believe humans should use horses for entertainment, I will ask you again, what would you do with the horse population that presently exists which is solely for human use?
2 horses fell early in the Hunters Chase yesterday over the National fences . Both got up sharpish and carried on running loose happily having the time of their lives jumping every single remaining fence impeccably and both with the front runners near the finishing post giving it the big catch me if you can with ears pricked . One of them wanted to go around again it was enjoying itself that much ! ;-)

Willie Mullins has a great a hand in this years National. He has definitely targeted this race this year for a number of reasons………
;-)

My horses tend to end up getting shot so I’m thinking if I tell you which of the 39 horses I have bet on, can someone put £100 on the one I don’t back?

I dislike this race as it makes me cringe.

I'm sure there are other problems with Horse Racing, but I hate watching this. All over the same fence at the same time and when they fall you just know what's coming.

I know horses die in other races, but this one just seems more chaotic. I'm probably wrong. I watched most of Cheltenham and saw 0 deaths. The national has had at least 1 in the last 4 years.

Just make it safer somehow and i'm in.

Mr Incredible!
Backed him last year sadly saddle slipped 3 out was certain to be placed . Better and stronger and progressive horse this year . Carried 12st and top weight in Midland National at Uttoxeter for a staying on runner up to qualify for this years Grand National . Has Willie Mullins found a progressive Aintree legend ? ;-)
Have you seen what colours are on Mr Incredible ?
Oh yes :-)
