2024 Grand National 13th April

Not really but you can't post every day so the biggest horse killing event will get the most attention. Obviously anyone who likes a bet or gets enjoyment out of dying animals will try diversion tactics.
I’m afraid I’m guilty here, love a bacon butty and a piece of fillet steak with mushrooms and onions hmmm.

Mr Incredible!
Backed him last year sadly saddle slipped 3 out was certain to be placed . Better and stronger and progressive horse this year . Carried 12st and top weight in Midland National at Uttoxeter for a staying on runner up to qualify for this years Grand National . Has Willie Mullins found a progressive Aintree legend ? ;-)

I see horse killing season is with us again, does it ever go away?
Bollocks, the Grand National has had a lot of jeopardy taken out of it now but Racing is an industry where horses die all over the world every year. However, mostly, they well cared for, live in luxury, well trained, well fed and cared for after retirement.

You’re just ignorant of the facts, saying “horse killing season is with us again” typical no knowledge comment, Horse Racing is an industry that provides employment and adds a lot to the UK economy, without it the horses wouldn’t be bred in the first place, give your head a wobble.

Sadly only the thought of profit gives people an incentive to care for animals it seems.
I boycotted it a few years hoping they'd make it safer.
Some of the jumps are just diabolical.
They’re not though, it’s just a long distance steeplechase these days, you’re commenting on something you have little knowledge of.

They are bred for racing, no racing, no horses, then you'll moan that horse population is on the verge of extinction
What a crock of shit. So if racing didn't exist, horses would go extinct? Horses are inherently wild animals, they are "broken" into money makers by the cunts that run the sport, thus there is nothing natural about making a horse race. Go and educate yourself.

Remove the whips, reduce the heights of the fences and obstacles to reduce risk of injury, allow the horses to gallop at a pace they're comfortable with. That's the only way I can support it. It's an 'endurance race' for horses, but what do we gain or learn from it that is worth the risk to the animals?

If Horse Racing as a spectacle wishes to continue it needs to make rapid changes.

In all seriousness, I have no idea if they actually like racing.

I have a dog, and he goes batshit crazy for running around and chasing a ball, would do it all day if he could.

Do they like doing this sort of stuff?

Horses have been trained for many functions, for example as transport for Soldiers and equipment, are you calling people cunts for training them to do that as they too would have been “broken in”. It’s not barbaric as you’re making out and tell me why horses who lose their jockeys keep on running and jumping fences.

Pathetic comment, horses provide pleasure to many people including the disabled and as for the racing industry it contributes significantly to the economy. Most horse owners in whichever field love and pamper their animals, the commitment to horse welfare is fantastic.

There’s restrictions on whip use now and the grand national fences have been reduced. Racehorses don’t go at breakneck speed in longer races, they are ridden to get the best out of them.

What are rapid changes you think need to be made, I’m sorry but you’re just ignorant of the situation which is very common.

I suggest you visit an Open day at a stables and speak to people involved in racing, you’ll be very surprised.

Why not just remove the whip from the jockey entirely? It shouldn't be used at all. If the horse is tiring, the horse is tiring.

It's also not a good look to call everyone who questions something you like as being "ignorant", because it makes you look overly defensive and incapable of debating criticisms of the thing you're interested in. You're making wild assumptions about a person you don't know simply because they disagree with you. That's... ignorance.

Its definitely something future generations will look back on and think we were mental

I think they love racing/running, you see so many who've unseated the jockey carry on to the finish, and beyond, over the jumps too.
