2026 Winter Olympics

Wish football managers and footballers called the media out out in the same way. I know Pep has a dig now and again but they need knocking down a peg or two sometimes.

Dare I say it but Alex Ferguson had a point when he banned the BBC. More should do it, especially City starting with Neville and Carragher.

The event has started to peter out with very little British interest left.

The curlers have been a huge disappointment.
I wonder if the curlers, because the media here were bigging them up so much that they would win the gold, went in with too relaxed an attitude. A bit of complacency maybe? We've seen it ourselves when we've said oh we'll beat this team easily and just relaxed a little too much. JMHO (I don't like curling anyway so don't watch it.)

Which event? The men’s slopestyle final was great as was the women’s curling ending against USA.

You don't have to have skin in the game to enjoying a sporting event. Plenty of people watch football matches involving teams they don't support just because they like football. Personally, I find a lot of the events really interesting as it's something you don't see all the time.

My mother in law is into curling. She said she has no idea why the BBC bigged them up. They are performing exactly as she predicted 2 weeks before it all began.

Curling now couldn't really give a ..... about but England v usofa last three stones of game turn over now you won't miss a thing ......nope just shown end of end how they got there anybody knows

The Americans are so funny when it comes to Eileen Gu. A lot of them literally think she’s a commie traitor.

I think because so many of their sports are just US centric they have no sense of players having multiple nationalities or wanting to represent a different country to the one they grew up in, it was like the Irish and Declan Rice x100.

Curling is one of the worst Olympic events and the BBC give it huge coverage.

…and I play lawn bowls.

The journalist in question is English.

Our cross country ski team finished 5th out of about 20 in the cross country team sprint earlier, a really good result from a country where you basically can't do the sport, yet it barely featured in the coverage today, other than celebrating the Norwegian get his 5th gold of the event.

It's like a relay with 2 in the team, skiing in turns 4 times, each time they ski it's about 6 km, so roughly 24km per skier, with 3 breaks for your muscles to tie up.

We've still got the 4 man bob sleigh to come, though beating the germans and usa teams will be difficult.

There's a new sport on snow tomorrow, ski mountaineering (men and women). We're used to them coming down mountains, but this is going up (and down) mountains, don't know if we have anyone in that, but sounds quite interesting.

I enjoyed the Ski-Mo as they seem to be calling it. Who knew ripping a bit of fabric off a ski could be an exciting element of a sport. Mind, I'd definitely have been tempted to have a bit of a rest on those steps.

Yeah I quite liked it also, though it seemed a bit contrived because it was it's first showing, sounds like there are quite a few different formats. I think there is also a mixed team to come.
