Yeah I'm surprised a city like Manchester wasn't in for it.
It was there for the taking.
Brisbane awarded 2032 Olympic Games... after being the only city to bid for them
Queensland capital won the vote to stage Games after Los Angeles - but was only city in contention

Plus too soon to be held in the UK after 2012 (and yes it was held in Sydney in 2000)

No-one wants to spend the cash to create a huge white elephant they struggle to utilize in 2033 and thereafter.

Should have built multi-purpose stadia in the Peloponnese years ago and just kept the festival there. Specific championships could be held each year and then the Olympiad every fourth year.
