21 | Rayan Ait-Nouri - 2025/26

Lets not get carried away, RAN will still play a big part this season

O Reilly has done fantastic when called upon, but he's still a young lad and will not doubt be taken out of the line of fire at certain periods of the season

It's nice to have the worry though for a change!

Don’t know what he did better than Reilly. He is wasted when not overlapping + he isn’t good on defense.

Not a good start for him and Cherki. Not that they can help it but it doesn’t help their settling in period
The lack of proper rest and then a full pre-season should not be overlooked.

O'Reilly is going to have to cover Ait-Nouri when the latter leaves for AFCON, so having him deputise now should prepare him for the challenge of hard games in a hard winter. That together will probably take its toll on O'Reilly, who is young and will flag come spring, so hopefully Ait-Nouri can hold the position from then to May.

He's a new player, but he hasn't played two full matches in a row yet to be able to judge him.

He played only one full match, being fit, against his former club at home. Then the following match against Tottenham, he went off injured in the 23rd minute. He then missed training sessions and started against Brighton, probably not having fully recovered. He's been out ever since.
O'Reilly seized his opportunity and played well. He's the number one option for the left-back position right now, but that doesn't mean he'll play 60 matches.

Ait Nouri, upon his return, will have the opportunity to prove himself, and I hope the competition between the two will help them progress, which will be beneficial for the team's left wing.

Hopefully due back soon and another really good player who could probably play as an attacking left winger with Nico Sat behind him .

With the emergence of O’Reilly could Rayan not be an option on the left wing as well? If we want more solidity in certain games I feel he could be an option

Really would be massive Pep brain to play a left back at left wing and a midfielder at left back but I do agree it could work.

I've been saying we could do the same with Rico at RW for a while.

I’ve never been a fan but when we signed him I hoped he would be able to step up. He gets the benefit of the doubt tonight after being injured but as it stands, I much prefer Nico at LB.

Looked leggy very early, surprisingly, but seemed to take confidence from his ball over the top which led to the equaliser. Going to struggle to get many starts before AFCON, though, so he might have to be one of the first substitutes in games.

Harsh to judge him in his first game back after a long-ish injury. All I will say is, he was awful defensively at Wolves, no reason to think that will suddenly drastically change. He's going to have to bring us more to offset that problem.

Rusty but thats surely no suprise when he’s been out for so long. Hell struggle to unseat NOR

If we use him, it needs to be in a wide fullbacks system with 2 DMs to cover for his attacking threat.

The less defending we can make him do the better he will be for us.

He hasn’t played enough games for us yet and pep will want him to get more game time and with his defending at moment it makes us vulnerable! He isn’t a tackler O’Reily is we need tacklers at fullback
