Cancelo was a front-foot, aggressive defender. Sometimes that resulted in a crazy, rash decision, that inevitably led to an opposition goal and made him look like an idiot. However, he was a miles better defender than any full back we currently have at the club. That’s not even taking into account what he was like on the ball, where he was a different level entirely.Which is crazy to think about because Cancelo was no defender. He just seems so lightweight. I fear him defending against any top 6 winger.

You are right about that, Cancelo would gamble and when it worked it was great but when it didn’t it was frustrating. Nunes is like that a bit too though, aggressive. Was really pleased when we signed him, but he was pretty poor today. Early days though obviously, but needs to improve defensively.
