I take back what I said about Mendy pre-match, all the people slating him were right, what does he think he's doing slottigg it away like a striker, should have tee'd up somebody else so my claim he would get an assist today was accurate.

I think the more he gets slated pre-match the better he plays. That's the answer, I think!

Played well today, brilliant finish for the goal. Unfortunately, injuries have screwed him, real shame he should have been the best offensive LB in the world.

I just hope for our and his sake this is the turn around. He played well today and took his goal brilliantly with his right. It’s been too long but he can still come good and challenge Zinchenko for the LB spot.

Absolutely delighted for him. Solid game generally but took his goal like a top class striker from the move backwards into space to the inch perfect finish.
