Was decent but he is not long term answer to our LB situation.
What did he do wrong tonight
His mum could have had a solid last hour . Fulham are toothless in the final third. If as a world Cup winner you struggle against the likes of Lookman you might as well retire. Zabba would have looked solid last nightHe had a shakey start, was out of position a few times, but had a solid last hour
It was Fulham ffs. If he was anywhere near the 11 for a champions league game I'd have to watch from 1behind the sofaHe did fine all things considered, and it was definitely a performance on which to build from.I suspect some have set their stall and he will never get a fair chance with many.
I'm not saying he is the long term answer as his previous very much suggests different.....but,to not afford him the base on which to build,Fulham or otherwise.....is a bit unfair. It was Fulham ffs. If he was anywhere near the 11 for a champions league game I'd have to watch from 1behind the sofa
He wasn't too bad mate I sgree but he can't seem to tackle properly, always goes in with the wrong foot and is easily beaten, also his concentration seems lacking and as for his crossing he puts far too much on them and what would be a tap in flies out for a throw. If he learned from his errors I would be more forgiving, but I think his time is up hereI'm not saying he is the long term answer as his previous very much suggests different.....but,to not afford him the base on which to build,Fulham or otherwise.....is a bit unfair.
He did some ok stuff yesterday and wasn't anywhere near as bad as some are claiming,or even wishing he was.
I wont disagree,he has plenty to improve on.He wasn't too bad mate I sgree but he can't seem to tackle properly, always goes in with the wrong foot and is easily beaten, also his concentration seems lacking and as for his crossing he puts far too much on them and what would be a tap in flies out for a throw. I dont think any fan enjoys sticking the boot in,id hope not anyway, but there will always be players who attract negativity for a variety of reason.A lot of people seem to really enjoy having someone in the squad they can attack.
Yesterday I left the match day thread because Laporte put a pass out of play 10 yards behind Mendy and the reaction of half a dozen posters was to blame Mendy, and it was one of those moment when your realise people aren't there to watch the game, just to get angry together and attack anyone to dissipate some in-game nerves..
He was fine yesterday, nothing special, looked like a player starting his first league game since December. No shit his touch was a bit rusty, KDB has looked rusty and he was put of the side for 1/4 of the time.
There were a few moments when he defender really quite well, and there were a few times when he made some really good runs in behind where he wasnt played in and he should have been.
I thought the formation was interesting enough to see again, and hopefully Mendy is part of that too.
Hope its his right footHe has one foot out of the exit presently
Stones is proof that it can be done. I wonder if Mendy will show the same resilience and commitment to turn his City career around?
More likely he'll show enough to get himself a new club, and us a better deal than we otherwise would.Stones is proof that it can be done. I wonder if Mendy will show the same resilience and commitment to turn his City career around?
