To often he is to slow, flat footed, ball watching, positionally terrible etc. His crosses are just slow loping high crosses now to, rare he pushes past the defender and rifles one across which tbh was his only asset.

He has had enough time now after injuries to show some consistency but it's not happening is it.

Would be glad if he went in the summer tbh, had enough of him.

How is he needing replacing with a player who gave everything on Tuesday when he didn't play? You can get taken off because you're playing shite or because we need to change things tactically, but a player who's supposed to be fresh should be able to last 90 minutes. Especially a full back.

Mendy had a very good first half, no contest between him and cancelo first half. second half James had him on toast, if a player is faster than you then there's not much you can do about it, but one thing you don't do is play into their hands and make it easy for them to roast you. Mendy continued to do that exact thing. Very poor.

He has largely been competent-decent all season and still be slagged off every game so God knows how much abuse he's going to get after that.

His knee injuries have screwed him sadly.

Needs to be moved on.
That's not the issue.

Physically Zinchenko is not superior to Mendy.

The problem is Mendy is making bad decision in defending, Zinchenko is simply smarter.

A shame. Some glimmers over the years to give you hope but I don’t think Monaco Mendy will ever exist here. There will be no takers (no crystal ball). I can’t see it anyway. Not a great game from him.Chelsea attacks came from his side with Ake having to cover a lot. Ake lost steam as result.

Sometimes really tough watching him play.

edit: missing word.

Please dont play him again Pep I'm going to turn in to some kind of axe wielding maniac soon.......would prefer to see Bill Williams in his position and he was a right back !!!

As usual he showed that he cant be relied upon against the better teams who target him as our weak spot. But to be fair to him and Pep it’s abundantly clear that he’s our reserve left back and as such he’s probably good enough to face most teams and play 20 or 25 games a season as a back up so I’d hang on to him
