That’s not fair. We send him to play second striker and expect to be perfect left defender. How many times has he got to get beaten on the wing before Pep admits Gvardiol can't play FB at this level?
Fair enough but he's getting beat when he's at LB not when he's out of positionThat’s not fair. We send him to play second striker and expect to be perfect left defender.
Joško just needs good back up when attacking.
Attacking affects his defending. This is normal. And he is not attacking like a wing back. He changes few positions in the game.Fair enough but he's getting beat when he's at LB not when he's out of position
He'd surely be a lot better than Akanji midfield. When it clicks, and it will, he will be amazing.
That fullback into left half space role (that Rico has done on the right) is so good for him.
The opposition will be surprised every time he makes those runs, he could have had 2 goals with more accuracy.
Perfectly being set up to do the Stones role, just from LB instead of CB.
Yup, just needs to cut out the silly mistakes. He'd surely be a lot better than Akanji midfield.
Another factor is age, he's 22 I think we all forget how young he is and as a result he will have dips of form.Should be in midfield, being over worked tbh.
Yes, he's very clever at times on the ball. There's been a lot of mistakes though recently which happens with a lot of defenders in their career. Once these are ironed out he'll be top notch.Another factor is age, he's 22 I think we all forget how young he is and as a result he will have dips of form.
He is one hell of a talent, an incredible footballer and could become a great if he keeps learning and working hard.
The more I see this guy play the more I'm convinced we need to turn him into a central midfielder. He's just too good at football to be a defender! He has everything in his locker. I want him involved in everything we do on the pitch for the next 10 years. Just needs to cut out the occasional brainfart but that would be less damaging played in midfield.
Obviously we need to buy some actual full backs first!
Stones was the same as a youngster.Another factor is age, he's 22 I think we all forget how young he is and as a result he will have dips of form.
