Ended up with their attack running through.
Dias fouled their player to stop the attack and got booked for his troubles.
I can see the good in him when he is attacking but positional awareness when an opponent break is on is poor.

Yeah I agree-he’s been out of his depth when switched inside-but he’s still v young-I’m still hopeful he’ll mature into a v good centre half.

as someone who’s been watching him play for a long time the way he defends changed so much since he signed for city.

to the point that people who don’t watch city are shocked. i sometimes think he killed his career, i guess time will tell.

He def seemed more aggressive at RBL. My kid loved him because he was always flying through the air or on the ground. Long highlight reels of this. I assume some of that was considered too rash and has been coached out of him.

Surprised he’s on so many lists of “must go” players. But maybe that’s better for him in the long run. Not every system fits every player.

i remember people writing defenders shouldn’t slide tackle and so on and now everyone’s crying for aggressive defenders. hilarious.

Having to do too much in an attacking role which is causing lapses in defence.

nah nah nah don’t drag the national team into this when he was croatia’s best player in that world cup, single handedly dragging us to the knockout stage and being absolutely brilliant. i bet u didn’t watch anything but that clip. old messi dragged his country to a world championship trophy btw, let’s not pretend he was shit in qatar. hope this helps.

He probably thought he’d play centre back too when he signed. But we do love a square peg in a round hole.

Sometimes it might be better to just let people vent after games. Most of the posts on player threads are raw, reactionary opinions that are getting frustration out.

If you ask whether anybody wants Gvardiol sold, I doubt there would be many people arguing for that.
