Gvardiol has those stupid passes in him every game in our end, but then plays crisp through balls in the final 3rd, such a strange player.

Pep forcing him to play deeper has been one of his errors this season, he can be great going forward, why has he neutered that?

So bizarre.

Making the same sort of mistakes that Stones used to make at that age. Lapses in concentration that nearly all end up with the opponents having a big chance

I expect he’ll grow out of it. He’s played a lot of minutes with an ever-changing side around him and a subtlety different role himself every other game. He just looks a bit fried this season

whats with him giving away rather easy straightforward passes? sometimes he is on opposite half he has 3 rather simple pass options and passes straight to an opponent who starts a counter...

he does it on our own half in deeper area few times too each game.

It seems he learned fuck all from giving the winger loads of room last week for their goal, continued doing exactly the same again today

I'm wondering that if Grealish isn't playing, is Pep telling to Gvardiol not to get forward in case we lose it and he's caught out of position on the transition. Grealish is good at those dinked balls for a deep runner like Gvardiol but he's in Pep's naughty book by the look of it.

He's not a left back end of. Can we please buy a left and a right back that overlaps, whips in crosses from the byline and defends. Just two typical full backs.
He is a left back. he's just bad at it. Whenever he plays CB he's been even worse.

Id love to hear your nomination. Maybe Rodri for those first 7 games we were unbeaten.
Well, a month ago I said savinho but he's fallen off a cliff, so honestly the answer right now is no one. Gun to my head i would still say savinho, but it's a very underwhelming POTS.

In many games this season teams target him because he’s not a natural left back and lacks pace. He’s prone to bad errors too. He’s got loads of skill no doubt and probably better as out and our central defender. (Not that he’s an extended run in that position). Still young though.

Skilful player but makes a lot of errors. Worries me. I'm not a tactical genius but no doubt the opposition target his frailties. He's played a lot of games/minutes, is he running on empty?

They were targeting him from kick off.

Why do we pay £80m for a central defender then play him at left back. That is bonkers.

We need two full backs in the summer.

I would think that he is positionally exactly where Pep wants him to be. The problem is his speed at closing the wide player down once the pass has been made. I would love to see him play in centre mid where his natural abilities would shine.

He's not got the pace or distribution ability to play there. Its playing players out of their natural position thats a big contributing factor to where we are today

The guy is an absolute baller. Reminds me a lot of Distin when he makes the game look so easy. He just doesn't think like a full back when out of possession. For me centre mid is where he'd thrive
