Like to see him play there from now on, I may be wrong about trying to get him to be an attacking LB (still think he is good there), but O Reilly should be LB for now with Gvardiol LCB.

Looked loads better at centre half. Just getting shit done and passing it on without any fuss. Reads the game well in the middle I think and looks more comfortable.

The perfect foil for Khusanov maybe?

Only defender who's had an acceptable whole season (all others either with injuries or low level), and I have never understood how criticize he is compared to all the other defenders. I hope we can see him more often at CB, but he is just a great player overall.

Would love to see Gvardiol getting an extended run at CB. Really good in the air and comes out with the ball superbly.

It may depend on what faith Pep puts in Nico OReilly after his outstanding performance today.

It has taken sometime but it was good to see Josko playing CB in the second half. Being so two footed he needs to be central (never mind his success at Aerial Duels). Pep obviously had some issues with him centrally (hence why he was a LB), but hopefully once he is confident with him as a CB (the new recruits are younger!) he will also be happy with him slotting into midfield like John Stones.

There is nothing to stop him from being pro-active from CB, like John Stones. It just requires others to cover, just as it does when full-backs attack.

I wouldn’t say that being top for most passes in the final third in the PL this season, by 133 over second placed Fernandes, is being stifled and Pep not allowing him attack.

He has been our most proactive attacker all season.
Stats don't always tell the whole story, he's been one of our most dangerous offensive players when he's allowed to attack and make runs in behind like the Chelsea game, in a lot of games though he rarely makes those runs and is more restricted.

We generally do play better when he pushes forward frequently. Without him under or overlapping, our wingers are marked by two or three on their own and it makes them incredibly predictable and easy to defend against.

Without our forwards/midfielders consistently winning the ball up high, we have to defend in transition and hold Gvardiol back to compensate.

I wont say he was great at CB. He didn't have much to do.

That said, O'Reilly is ready for the LB spot so LCB it os for the Great Spartan.

With Dias at RCB and Khusanov at RB, that's not a terrible back line. Keeps Lewis and Nunes out of the squad at least.
