Does anyone know our record with Gvardiol and Dias a starting CBs? I know if happened quite a bit towards the end of last season, and my memory remembers the goals conceded in those games being close to fuck all.

That goal wasn’t his or Ake’s fault btw. Stones and Dias push for basically no reason and the backline gets split up. He did well with Gyokeres today

Not his fault, though. In fact, he almost managed to fix Nathan's mistake as it was Nathan who played him onside.

Only slight negative from me was he could've taken martinelli out before he got shot away but then it was a tricky lob to pull off

Made it very easy for Martinelli to run through. He's never really played alongside Ake and that showed yesterday

He's our best defender in theory, but still prone to bozo moments I think. Outside of the goal there was another incident where he got caught dawdling on the ball on the half way line.

If he can cut that stuff out, best in the world potential

He’s still only 23. He’s 2-3 seasons away from being the finished article yet.

Look at van Dijk, at 23 he was still playing for Celtic.

I know, however, even though he is a cracking player, I was expecting him to be even better by now. Hopefully he will stay at CB and really grow into the player that he can be, as I believe that can be the best in the world.
