He saved us a few times and was just trying to close the angle down on Martinelli. Unfortunately it’s a brilliant finish. Just one of those things.
But, dare I say, that defensive performance from the side stems from the confidence they have in the guy in the sticks behind them.

It’s Ake (again) playing him on that was at fault … Gigi was immense again, and dominated the box when facing their biggest weapon i.e. corners.All that only to get chipped like that in stoppage time, so frustrating because he was so good.

If the defence stays deep, Donna isn’t so far out. I don’t know why there was a sudden change in approach but it’s cost us. They could have played all day and not scored, they created next-to-nothing in open play.

He's going to be huge for us, maybe should have stayed back for the goal but Ake dropping back was totally different to the game we had played all the way through

Excellent overall again and you can see what he's brought to our back line, who have been floundering for a long time

Initially thought he came out because Martinelli was through on goal and he tried to make it harder for him score, but watched the goal back and it's the opposite. Ake is caught sleeping, but Gvardiol makes the angle tight for Martinelli. It's barely a chance. Completely brain dead decision to come out which is classic Donnarumma (take the good with the bad), but he should've never been put in that position. You can't play a high line when there's no press. Shame on Savinho for not putting in the dirty work and Reijnders for trying to dribble instead of manage the game properly.
Regardless, that was objectively a good performance by him. You can see how comfortable the defence is with him behind them.

Sooner we get rid of Savinho the better. He is stinking the place out currently.

Phenomenal game from him in goal. Distribution wasn't great, although there seems to be a connection with Haaland on the old school "route 1 to the big man up top". But his actual goalkeeping was fantastic.

Had a good game overall but he's completely at fault for that goal and cost us 2 points. Ederson would have been massacred if that were him.
Trying to blame the defence makes no sense. He hasn't gone clean through, even if youre saying its a mistake in the back line, Gvardiol gets back and is forcing Martinelli to go wide. If the keeper isn't out of position, Gvardiol either pushes him right out wide away from danger or he tries to hit it from a very difficult angle where you'd always back the keeper to comfortably save it. He was miles out of position and it's cost us the win.

Mainly because that goal happened loads of times with Ed in goal. Repeated issues is what ends up bringing criticism - if this happens multiple times for Donnarumma then he'll get it too I'm sure.
