25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

As long as he is holding his arm while the ball is in play it's a foul, no matter if he lets go quick or not. you just can't do this to goalkeepers on set pieces. used to be that you couldnt even touch keepers in corners, then you could just do this "standing your ground" bullshit. now apparently you can just hold them! awful rule change and is the #1 reason why the league is looking so turgid and full of shit set piece routines these days
100%. Ya can't lock arms with the keeper under any circumstance. There's no such thing as how hard or how long did someone hold the keeper. That's a foul in every other major league and in the CL. Not sure what all this "bullshit" as you rightfully call it is about. Arsenal are making a living at it. If we were on the other side of that play there's no way the goal stands.
Anyone who ever played knows that hooked arm was enough to affect Donnarumma's timing. He was late and was left low and reaching.

Those tackles were quality.

He has got to learn to catch the ball, he's punching balls that have to be claimed. some wobbly moments that were all centered around coming/staying and punching/catching that we got away with tonight but they need cutting out. Couple of fairly routine but still important saves from him, one in the first half low down especially. The 2 tackles ended up being fantastic but had my heart in my mouth throughout, hesitation caused that, bloody good tackles though.

Perhaps it’s an optical illusion, but for someone who is 1.96 metres, he doesn’t get terribly far off the ground when crosses come in, often taking the ball when it’s well on its downward trajectory.

Very strong bond between him and the defenders, though, which is encouraging.

Great keeper wish he’d catch the ball sometimes for a big lad but everything else about his game is spot on
