The one that they hit the bar with near the end, I though he could have headed that away but was weak in the challenge and it went over him.

He was. Every chance they had he was involved in. He is average at best and part of the reason why we haven’t been doing as well recently. He was abject in the Brentford game before the World Cup and thought we may have seen the last of him but with our injury problems it has led to him being a guaranteed starter. I really hope Dias is fit for Wed.

Wouldn't be harsh on him at all, main 3 centre backs haven't been fit/reliable but still in with a shout for the title. A far better situation than Fernandinho centre half or moving Rodri from midfield as I suspect Pep would have resorted to had we not signed him.

That said for a strapping big lad with decent pace there's really no reason to be as tentative as he often is. Has Yaya's gift of actually making himself shorter when jumping for a high ball.

Yes, he's our 3rd/4th choice CB, but remember, he cost us £15 MILLION and he is worth EVERY PENNY OF IT and MORE.

Not if we don't win the league due to his schoolboy errors.

A centre back who isnt commanding in the air and makes repeated passing errors...not for me,I don't care how cheap he was.

he just will not put a tackle in for whatever reason? compare that with the cruncher dias put in first half, absolute levels between the two of them.

If Akanji has to play in the latter part of the season it will be very difficult to win anything this season - his mistakes will undoubtedly cost us.

Akanji is good imo, I think he just needs Dias at side of him for the leadership. But no need for him to get scapegoated. People forget this is his first season.
