If he’s playing with an injury as is rumoured then fair enough but at the moment he’s looking a £14m player !

He got out of jail yesterday when he got caught on the ball but thankfully got a very very soft free kick.

Let’s hope he’s rested soon and gets fully fit and stays fit.

Injury has to be the explanation. He has been poor this season and was absolutely terrible yesterday.

Shocking comment for the last season and a half he has been the best defender at the club, last season he was magnificent and the first name on the team sheet.

He has simply been overplayed with the injuries to Ake, Stones, Dias and Walker.

Fuck me the pile on with different players on this site is ridiculous. Some City fans have really short memories. What these players have achieved for this club should never be forgotten. Yes the team are in a really poor run at the present but some City fans just love having a good old moan. Get behind the lads.

I have no issues with constructive criticism but some players simply don't deserve the abuse and Akanji is very much one.

He is and has been a superb signing, a bargain.

Overall a good signing for 14m, and has done well playing full-back. As a CB though, I think he’s miles behind Dias, Stones and Ake. Ranks as one of the worst CBs in Europe in terms of duel % and aerial %. Loses his man in the box far too often and avoids physical contact. This is not a pile on or overreaction due to recent results. I’ve always been (and still is) one of Grealish and Nunes biggest fans for example, who gets a lot of shit from fans on here. Nothing personal against Akanji, I just genuinely think he’s one of the worst players in the squad and don’t see what others see in him. Fine as a full-back backup, but as a CB we need better

John Stones when fit and in form is an magnificent CB but when was the last time that happened?

Dias last season for me was poor, pleased to say he looks far better this season.

Ake is a quality player but like Stones is constantly injured.

There is some OTT moaning going on at times concerning some of the players no doubt. However this is balanced with some quite accurate comments on how players have performed poorly on occasions. Past achievements may provide a reason for you to not critique but it really isn't a problem if people want to.
 
Pound for pound a fantastic signing and his form for the first 18 months was sensational however he needs to keep it simple and concentrate on the basics…….to me he now thinks he’s a better footballer than he really is.
 
Akanji did have a poor game but he doesn't look fit. He must be playing with an injury. He certainly doesn't deserve abuse and unwarranted criticism. He is a great signing and solid defender at the highest level when fit.
 
He was made to look good with a prime Walker and Dias beside him and Rodri in front of him. Take them out and he’s just really average
