Scoring goals and creating them isn't their responsibility though, is it? Their responsibility is moving the ball side to side quickly so we can find spaces to work into. Today though, always an extra touch for Akanji and Dias which was annoying as hell.
 
The problem is that the defensive pack was shuffled by Pep today from what I can only guess was the accommodation of Lewis at RB and Akanji at CB. Gvardiol move to the left was very much to the detriment of the team. City couldn’t move the ball forward with any purpose as the most able ball-playing CB was on the left, providing the width much higher up the pitch. That only left Dias and Akanji as the sole outlets on the ball at the edge of Southampton's box and, let’s be honest, both of them are the least equipped to produce what is required.

When we have slow, turgid attacking plays, the ball ends up with the CDs eventually coz we are out of good options.

It should be one or the other. Never both. Both are decent on the ball, but hold on to it too long and aren't as creative as they think they are.

But i don't blame either. In an efficient quick playing side, we wont be so turgid that we need either on the ball at the top of the other team's 18. When we find ourselves permanently in those positions, the error is Pep's.
 
it was like the Arsenal game at the Etihad where they parked the bus with 10 man.
the ball was way too many times at Akanji or Dias who did nothing with it, take extra touches, pass to each other. its great when we are in lead.
 
What I hate the most is sometimes players are just standing still on the ball not moving at all just stopping play I honestly don't understand it what is the point, watch it with the defenders standing fucking sill and then trying to play fast in the 88 minutes onwards. Hopefully we get the fastest players on the pitch against palace or we will get battered playing stop pass football.
 
How has this fucking clown come straight back into the 11?!

Been dreadful all season, gets injured and we miraculously look more solid.

Comes back, thrown straight back into the 11, and we look fragile again.

This isn’t a coincidence.
 
Poor player, always has been, shoehorning him back in the last two games has been beyond stupid
