Terrible signing, has never provided what he was supposed to. We needed a winger who was clinical, who would offer a threat from outside the box to stop teams parking the bus, but he's about a 1 in 20 man from the edge of the box, but doesn't let that stop him attempting it constantly.

I suspect he's playing right now BECAUSE he doesn't fit in our system, rather than despite that fact. Because right now we don't have a well-oiled machine, we're hoping for moments of quality to win games, and he can produce those. Even if it's detrimental to our overall system, which again isn't really working anyway. It's the only thing I can think of as to why a player that doesn't work hard enough or make good, team-centric decisions anywhere near often enough is routinely starting games for us.
Doesn't start when we have a fully fit squad.
It is what it is, don't think he starts ahead of any other player.
He had good moments of passing, and I like that Pep played him as a false 9 to make use of that, but he still lost the ball a bit too much.

if we got an offer of £30m tomorrow i would bite their hand off. Just not suited to our style of play and it was obvious from the start.
I get a lot of abuse from the Mahrez fan club on social media but for me until this player is not in the team we will not return to our blistering best. The cameo from Bernardo gives me hope that he is back to his 2018/9 level and ready to take his place.
I don't mind a player out of form or having a bad spell but I can't stand one that loses possession and doesn't even attempt to get it back - also tonight his movement off the ball was terrible. He did play one really good pass forward but that is not enough. I just hope when Pep analyses this match he sees how wasteful Mahrez was. Kev and Phil seemed pissed at not being put through - he had five of the many shots off target the greedy bugger.
