Look at how David Silva worked as an example, he didn't lunge in as you suggest we want him to but made in damn difficult to stroll past him. Mind you David was a supreme talent. Mahrez does have so much talent but the way our team plays he needs to be more responsible with his defensive positioning. If we were a team that played on the counter there would be few better than him, but in a possession based team his 30% rate of shots on target to attempts is not so good. A top pass to Sergio yesterday - we just need more of that.

I love Riyad and rates him, but for some reason he doesnt fit the RW position in Pep's system.

Maybe Pep should try him on the left or Center.

Only watched the first half, but Mahrez doesn't have the pressing energy that Foden and Jesus have that's for sure clear for all to see.

But... he created like 80% of our good chances that half, he was sublime there.

For me, if he focuses more on dribbling then passing instead of dribbling then shooting, we get that consistency from Mahrez we need, even if his work rate isn't as good it is still much better when he believes in his passing.

I think the fact he is so talented and skilled is one of the reasons he's so fucking annoying.

He should be influencing games at the level of de bruyne or David Silva and instead hes just OK with a few moments of great play per game.

He is very influential but not quite at their level and that's okay - hardly any players in history are.

As,i suspect,would anyone except his fan boys.....as Grealish is currently one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.

We have another player at Leeds,in Jack Harrison,i would also sooner see as a replacement.

I for one am glad to see Mahrez having a selfish streak in terms of having a go himself. Far too often we fanny about around the box looking for a walk in goal. Be honest, how many times have you said, I wish someone would have a shot rather than trying to be to intricate.

That's fine if there is no better option,or a player is in better space,but with Mahrez that usually isn't the case.
