Always puts a shift in and we are seeing his efforts turn into a sustained season of consistent goal scoring. A very impressive player for someone i thought would be good on the ball but possibly lazy-ish off it. He puts his all into every aspect and it has paid off for him greatly.

G/A every 89 mins is mad
Yeah. He has the highest G+A per 90 in the squad, even if look at expected.
He’s been very reliable the last 1.5-2 seasons.

Glad to have him. Hope Palmer can reach these numbers, if he surpasses them then he will be an amazing player.

The funny thing about Mahrez is that it's similar to the would be striker situation.

I don't think Mahrez suits the way we play to the extent that others do (although he's getting better). But he creates chances, scores goals, and creates goals in a way that most of the others can't. You could say similar about De Bruyne and Sterling too.

I think what it shows is that if you can afford it, make sure you have that good mix of players who each provide you with something different.

Mahrez has had a great 18 months, I think the criticism of him before that was justified and he was very inconsistent but these days he basically scores or assists every game he plays. Can see him getting an extension, particularly with question marks around the futures of other players.

Meh, he’s the absolute king of scoring goals when we’re already battering someone to get his stats up. In 2021 alone:

the 5th goal in a 5-0 win against West Brom
the 4th goal in injury time in a 4-1 win against Wolves
the 5th goal in a 5-0 win against Norwich
the 4th goal in injury time in a 4-1 win against Brighton
the 5th goal in a 6-1 win against Wycombe
the 5th goal in a 5-1 win against Brugge
the 4th goal in a 7-0 win against Leeds
the 3rd goal in a 4-0 win against Newcastle.

The argument that’s he’s had a great 18 months is crazy considering he did fuck all for the first 6 months of last season.

Please can you balance this out by totting up how many important goals he scored too?

He was our most important forward during the run to the Champions League final.
