Mahrez I am confident will have a telling season.

I know he’s never been blessed with lightening pace but he looks slower than Rodri this season.

There was the chance against Leicester where he went through one on one and didn’t have the speed to make it count.

That 2nd incident you mentioned was a bit like when people thought Anelka completely destroyed Ferdinand for pace years ago in the derby. The other player was rapid and already at full speed.

He’s to slow. Sterling should go back to right wing if Kane signs.

Agreed. Beautiful touch (he has always had this) and sublime finish.

The problem I have with Mahrez is his ability to go missing for large spells in matches and seasons. He had a great period last season and some of his performances and goals were appreciated, however for what we paid I don’t think we have seen or will see full value for money.

He seems only capable to play any decent football on the RHS of a front 3, so lacks versatility compared to others and his lack of work rate (both ways) and lack of speed means he doesn’t really impose himself on matches.

Also looks like he is carrying a few extra lbs around his guts this season. Don’t think he has the fitness/stamina required to play the way we do and realistically would be behind 3-4 players on that side of the pitch in that position when all are fit. But for a highlights package compilation when you see his touch and goals he looks like a worldy.
