Been very good for us. Was alright yesterday. Won't be criticising him too much. Does need to start being phased out, though.

His contribution to the goal yesterday was reminiscent of many previous ones, but the previous ones came a little more regularly. His goal against Liverpool was a cracker, left the BBC insert into the TotY totally banjaxed, but we seem to be seeing less and less of the guy who first came.

I agree it has to be acting on orders from Pep which is hugely disappointing if it is . There was acres of room outside his full back yesterday but he never utilised it .
After several scotches it also occurred to me that at Leicester he could pick out the diminutive Vardy with pin point precision but can’t seem to find the jolly green giant in our attack.
Conclusion perhaps that as with one or two players it is pep not utilising the talent properly by stubbornly playing them in a rigid pattern.!?
Pep likes to collect players who have playmaker trait and change some of them into robots to follow his ball possession philosophy. It's a bit frustrated to see players always slow down the rhythm (especially loads of back passes) to keep the ball when there are obvious better choices with risk. Pep is one of the best football coaches for sure but he's more like a tyrant recently.

He frustrates me in the same way Nasri did, obviously he has talent but it appears fitfully and he doesn't work hard enough in the quiet periods, leaving the right side of our defence exposed at times.

He deserve most of the credit for the 1st goal

Should have a penalty

And provided Rodri with excellent cross but unfortunately he missed it.

I hope Pep will keep starting him.

Once he loses the high heels and mittens we'll see there's a player in there somewhere

I agree. I’ve a lot of respect and time for what he’s done with us, but his influence on matches is waning and it’s frustrating.

He was one of our better players yesterday, however.

What?

Mahrez has won four Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup three times, and captained Algeria to victory in the 2019 African Cup of Nations. He's a Champions League runner-up and has scored 4 goals in Champions League semi-finals. He's played over 200 games for City, scoring more than 60 goals. He's made over 250 PL appearances in total and has notched 78 goals in that time. He was the top scorer for last season's Premier League champions, he's won Premier League POTY and African FOTY, and he's widely regarded in Algeria as one of their greatest ever players.

He's not in good form this season and I think he needs phasing out but to act like he's never been any good is beyond preposterous.
