26 | Savinho - 2024/25

Brilliant. Going at his man and being able to cross straight away with the need to cut back has been sorely lacking as pep insists on Inverted wingers, Savinho today has to open his eyes to the benefits of playing at least 1 natural footed winger.

The first 2 goals come because he's left footed on the left, the first was a fluke but that's what happens when you ask questions and force the opposition to actually defend, that goal doesn't happen if we are fannying around refusing to get the ball into a dangerous zone. Second goal. If he has to check onto his strong foot after beating his man, the defender gets back and stops any cross.

As I've been saying for weeks in this thread, Simplify this lads game for him until he's fully settled and you'll see better results in the mean time.

Let him keep going, play him in the same position against Salford and let that confidence build.

the 3rd goal is the one that excites me the most. immediately identifies the hole in the middle, sees the space and attacks it, even when it's not his position. he's not our attacking midfielder. but he had an eye and smelled danger and he was spot on in the execution.

reminds me a little of the goal that he set up for Haaland against arsenal earlier in the season

he needs to improve his off the ball game but quite young to do that if he puts his mind to it. he is learning each training session. but has some drive to get end product from the wing which we need so much. hope it rubs onto other wingers and they want to do the same now.
