23 games without a goal is a poor return for any attacking player, be them new, or young.
It is but, there again, the figures are very poor for everyone except Haaland and Gvardiol. Once he finally bags one, maybe it will change as his desperation atm is causing him to make poor decisions.

Longer term, I think we have a real City player here.

I think he's got potential..he is still young and adapting to a new style of football and a new country etc.
Once he gets a goal he will probably get a few more ..it's a confidence boost he needs.

He has only started 10 league games so I'd give him a bit more time.
The things he does naturally are good but when he has time to think or faced with more than one option, he appears confused.
Not sure how that can be improved.

Another fancy dan player.

Offers absolutely nothing.

Doesn't ghost in at the back post like all decent wingers/outside forwards should do.

Doesn't score.
Can't cross.
Passes are loose.

But has a great first touch.

Him and Doku must be the most frustrating players in the top 6 sides to watch.

He’s got a shit load to learn and improve on, but surely you can see there’s a top level player in there from the good things about his game?

Does the lad need to change his name back to Sávio?

He was Sávio at Troyes and on loan at PSV Eindhoven and Girona, comes to City and changes his name to ‘Little Sávio’ and had mainly played like a little Sávio. He’s a bit meek and soft like a kid. Get the man’s name back on his shirt!

Someone could probably dig up a you tube video that makes Kalvin Phillips look like a footballer

Savinho's biggest upside is his enthusiasm, he seeks the ball non stop, plays with high energy, lot of courage and determination. This means he is bound to improve. He might not become a great goalscorer but he can become a Robben/Mahrez level player with plenty of creation.

That’s from one game, not the full season. That was his best performance in a City shirt the other day. He was excellent in all aspects apart from goals and assists, strength and attitude to being touched. He worked hard defensively, he pressed very well, he won the ball back multiple times, he took on the two opposition defenders doubling up on him all game very well, he put a few good crosses into Haaland, he passed the ball well, he moved well to create space like Sterling used to.

Same for most of his performances:

He’s just lagging behind one of the best wingers in the league, who is three years older than him and been playing in this league for six years, in just goals, shooting and assists. And even then, his expected goals and assists are almost identical.

There’s a potentially fantasic football player in there.

I predict Gavardiol and Savinho are going to be our best two players when they reach their prime (hoping that we haven’t driven them out of the club by then for the incessant moaning about them). They’re both mustard for their age.

Remember in his interview when he signed for us, Savinho said that him and his mate were City fans growing up and they dreamt for him to come and play for City. Now he’s here! He’s going to want to be a big player for this football club.

You can flash fancy stats up with dribbles and passes etc etc..

At the end of a season a forward is going to assessed on his goals and assists. Like a striker will be on goals and Defenders on clean sheets.

That is the only stat that matters.

He could be the best dribbler and have the most take ons in the League at the end of the season. But if he only has say 2 or 3 goals and 1 or 2 assists, people will be right to question him.

They aren’t ’fancy’ stats. Haha. They’re aspects of football games.

What he’s done at 20 for us has been easily as high quality as Cole Palmer showed at the same age where he scored just 1 goal in the treble season in 25 appearances. Look at him now. Even with just one goal, you could see Palmer had it.
Saka and Foden both scored 7 and 8 goals respectively in the season they were Savinho’s age but had been playing in this league and at their clubs for three years before then.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored just 6 goals at Utd in his first season, 9 in his second, 12 in his third… and he’s one of the greatest players ever.

If Savinho can get 2 or 3 goals and 1 or 2 assists in his first season in this league and at a team that’s looking like being 10th at worst to 4th at best, he’ll have had a good start for us. I can see it in him that he’s going to be a very good player.

At the moment he’s all skin and bones, he’s got no muscle mass whatsoever. When he grows up physically and works on his shooting and grows with experience of the club and this league, I have no qualms he’ll be class.

Great enthusiasm except tracking back and doing his shift.

He was not arsed to move a yard when Everton got 4 vs 2 or whatsoever at the end of the game.

That is his most similar attribution to Mahrez.

So all he needs to do is score goals and assist much more than he is just now and we will have a world beater on our hands. I will get excited when that happens. Where in the chart does it show you 'refuses to pass to teammates in better position' 'runs down blind alleys' and 'falls down and waves arms at ref'. I'm guessing he would score very highly at those.

Definitely a player in there, but he’s doing my tits in pulling out of tackles at the minute
