26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Good Game . Could’ve scored one but also could’ve assisted one if Haaland or others made better runs

It is his most annoying characteristic.
I couldn't work out those 2 ocassions in the first half where,

1, O'reilly left a ball for him they were both going for which resulted in a throw for Sunderland!

2, Up against his man with 2 options - get the ball in or win a corner. Outcome, goalkick for them.

I noted that pull up too when he expected a free kick for nowt, he would have been in a good position if he didn't stop.

Haaland missed a very good chance, far easier than Savinho's second, which the goalkeeper saved well.

That aside, it's strange logic to simply prefer players not to be involved in a game over someone who gets himself into good positions but isn't clinical.
I didn't prefer Foden and Haaland's performanes, they had poor games by their own high standards, it happens.

Someone getting into good positions and wasting them time after time is no good to anyone.

It can't just be down to bad luck, he has no composure in front of goal and his final ball is terrible.

Cherki's face when he hit that one over the bar said it all.

His good game is still a low level.

I don’t know what to make of it tbh. Age is on his side but that don’t mean he will get any better. Sav has not progressed thus far.

A lot of praise for not impacting the game shows how low the bar is now.

Changed my mind about Savinho after saying previously that he's not good enough. I've watched some of his performances again and also found him on youtube from before he joined City. His speed is a great weapon and while I'll never care for how easily he goes to ground I'll trust Pep's judgement as he must see what kind of player the lad can develop into. It's likely he knows the abuse he gets on this forum so I hope it doesn't get him down too much. I've never forgotten Richard Edghill getting so much stick from the crowd in a game v. Coventry at Maine Road that he didn't come out for the second half, now folk on here are trying to outdo each other posting insults about Savinho that sound a bit more "clever" than the one before. Hope he's soon over the injury and back to full fitness.

For what it's worth, I think the second chance was a very good save by the Sunderland keeper. However, he should have scored the first.
The first is probably harder to score as he is running o to it with a defender on him though I still think he should be scoring it.

the second he gofts the keeper that save, even though he has time to compose he slightly scuffs it and it wasn't a clean shot, if it was it wouldn't have beem saved by an outstretched foot.

Also if he had looked up Haaland was on for the pass.

He had a decent performance and hope the injury isn't serious and he is back soon, but until hos composure on goal improves he should only be used as a sub

I can't say he had a good game when he had two grade A chances to score in a 0-0 match and missed both, per usual. He did good things, but it means nothing more or less when he can't ever put the ball in the net.. And now he's injured. The only bright side of this injury is that there's very little chance we'll loan Bobb, who's a much better player than Savio. Let's hope he gets back soon.

Not fair comparison.. but a blind man can see he won't have the offensive production of what we want from him!

Some players just have absolute venom in their shots..

Some are average.

and Savinho is the first one I've ever seen made us think a toddler could kick a ball better.

With Savinho after a year and a half.. at best he's slated to be Doku's backup.. but I just don't see him as a starter for City long term.

I say that without hate, without any agenda.. just dissapointment. Wished he'd really become Mahrez 2.0 but those are very big shoes to fill apparently.
