26 | Savinho - 2025/26

He was far more effective than Doku yesterday but Doku has banked some recent good performances.

Savinho's assists tend to come from the left wing, but yesterday's chance immediately before Half Time would have been a goal of the season contender if converted, with a fantastic first touch deserving a stronger finish.

Are you sure you are not regretting the club refusal of Spurs offer ? :)

I was against selling him, but now I would rather start Oscar or Cherki ahead of him in the RW position.
I haven't seen a winger get behind the defense, for us as often as he did yesterday, in a long time. Maybe not since Sterling's peak seasons.

The amount of times he cut behind the Left back and had him in a state of panic waa fantastic to see.

The output was disappointing, but to get that wide open that often is promising. And it was all predicated on movement and timing. That kind of instinct is rare and i was very impressed he exhibited it.

Sure, I don't like his dribbling style. Never have. Too fanciful and soft. Compared to say Doku, Bobb or Ndiaye (who looks a perfect fit for what we currently do), those guys have a more robust style and with better control of the ball and a suddenness about their change of direction that Savio lacks.

But overall, i was very impressed with his positioning. For me, this is a characteristic i rate extremely highly, and he showed it in spades yesterday.

Not that I think doku has not been good on the left, but I would try to switch them around. I think savio is far better on the left and doku's strong right foot might help his delivery

Really good game from him yesterday. As ever, his shooting was a bit shit but his movement and decision making was good.

even though he missed a coupe of very good chances I thought he was better vs Everton..he was positive, taking his man on and driving towards goal...he was poor with his finishing on two occasions but also drew a good ave from the keeper on another chance...

He needs to work desperately on his finishing...unless that improves Pep will eventually lose patience. Sterling was a reknown poor finisher but he got past that by getting into positions where he couldnt miss most of the time.....Sav also needs to work on that.

New whipping boy...he has been poor this season but saturday much better, lets judge him after 7 or 8 more games as i believe his season starts NOW

Let's play Bobb that 7 or 8 games.

Savinho free games, free extended contract...

Savinho also has to earn that. I don't agree he has contributed more.

In terms of pure numbers, Savinho has contributed 2 goals, Bobb 1. Yes, Savinho's goal was against Huddersfield, but Bobb played in that game too (90 minutes) and did less.

In terms of teamplay, Bobb combines much better with his teammates and creates more chances. Savinho only has one way: run with the ball. Bobb is more versatile. Stops play, pass at first touch, plays through balls, makes right decisions, dribbles in tight spaces...

The unique thing Savinho is over Bobb is pace. Even in defence Bobb helps more.

Probably Savinho is not a bad player but he doesn't fit in positional play.

Bobb's main problem is unconsistency, but Savinho lacks too.
