26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Ive got to ask but what positve things does he do for a winger? He gets the ball, darts forward 5 yards, stops, and passes it backwards or sideways. He NEVER takes his man on, he never tries tricks (for a Brazilian winger i find that odd) he never gets to the by-line and whips one in, his crossing is poor, his passing is poor, hes not fast or strong, he doesnt seem to have a stronger foot, never mind a weaker one. I really, really want to like him but can't find a positve yet. Whereas Bobb constantly beats his man, goes inside and outside, seems to pick the right pass quite a few times, yes he isnt fast or strong but you can see things to work with and his control of the ball amd technique gives me great hope he'll come on leaps and bounds.

you need start checking date on top of paper even then id check it

and terms of payment ?
think id trust club rather than giving assets away

Jack Gaughan, Romano, Ornstein and many more all reported spurs bids. If you like him fair enough but the bids were there and they were enormous considering what we paid and what he has shown while he has been at the club so far.

on the left it's almost impossible, all he knows how to do on that side is cross, to dribble and make the difference in 1 against 1 or 1 against 2 you have to use him on the right where he is more comfortable using his speed
Cheers.

This runs counter to the narrative I've found on the internet - most believe that Savinho is more effective on the left. And this observation - left side better - meshes with my own observations.

They are basing this on his season at Girona where it was a different style, if we ask him to create imbalance, to attack the full-backs to penetrate the box against a team that plays deep, he is more comfortable on the right, on the left apart from his cross for Haaland against West Ham or his goal against Leicester, I did not find him effective on this side even against weak teams in national cups

exactly. Unless both footed it’s hard for a left foot to go against a packed defense other than crossing. Let alone he was through 2 times and didn’t receive the ball. Our system changed from the Sterling/ sane times we play far slower. It won’t work.

He most likely won’t make it. But the season is long so there‘s enough time to make a name for himself. Estevao is the future world beater of Brazil so Savinho might never end up being a starter

With the emergence of 'Estêvão' at Chelsea + others like Martinelli plus Vinni, Rodrigo for Brazil.
Can anyone see Savinho getting his Brazil place, even squad place back? The young lad 'Estêvão' looks streets ahead of him even at his age.

It’s the worst collection of Brazil forwards in their history, so should only need a good consistent run of form across the season. It’s whether Savio takes it by the scruff of the neck like he means it and wants it though.

I don’t think he deserves the slating he’s getting this season, at least not today, he was at it all match and tried hard. Come away with an assist but Phil should get the credit for it really. But he had some strong moments especially right before half time.

Much better on the left. doku, marmoush and seemingly now savinho all operate best from the left, not ideal.

Mixed bag today. Some poor moments, but enough positive moments. The tame effort he had early on, he has to be putting his foot through that. But then right on halftime, we saw a mahrez-esque first touch, cut inside and a decent enough effort that was well saved. Kept going and got himself an assist. Decent enough.

Shit on the right, better on the left. Chalk and cheese.

But it’d be to the point that I wouldn’t play him at right wing again. It was obvious last season he is better when he attacks the byline down his left and has the option to come inside if there’s space. He’s wasted on the right and it’s like playing with 10 men if he’s out there.

Can we just transfer him to another club? Can't believe they extended his contract, he simply is not good enough to play at Man City.
