The unique thing Savinho is over Bobb is pace. Even in defence Bobb helps more.

Probably Savinho is not a bad player but he doesn't fit in positional play.

Bobb's main problem is unconsistency, but Savinho lacks too.

Both can develop a lot. It's up to Pep to choose the right player for the right game.
 
Savinho is crap and it shows how far our levels have dropped when people are trying to defend him, think he is good enough for where we need to be.

It shows how people obsess with numbers, he got an assist on Saturday for a simple three yard pass to Haaland. Fodens work prior to that was much more difficult and had a larger impact, but it won't go down as a Foden assist. The chance in the first half he made himself was great, but a match is 90 plus minutes and he had little impact. Got into good positions and fluffed it many times. Hate how he goes down so easy, refs have cottoned on and he probably gets half of free kicks every time he goes down. Even if it is a foul. He needs to get his head down, stop being a fanny, stop rolling about and get some consistency to his game.

I'm a fan of positional play, I'd always play with small players who can combine in tight spaces as Barcelona's Guardiola did: Cherki, Foden, Bernardo, Bobb... for example, Doku is the opposite way, he runs with the ball alone, but creates lots of dangerous chances. Savinho doesn't.
 
He's just someone who shouldn't be trying to find his level here. That leeway should be reserved for lads from the academy that count towards home grown status.

If Savinho wasn't suited to positional football, he wouldn't be here in the first place or we'd have accepted Spurs' offer.

Yes, Bobb may be more suited but Savinho's pace can be instrumental in some games. Imo, we are lucky to have both. But if one of them shows no progress this season, then he may leave in the summer.
 
Savinho was better against Everton than he has been recently. Still...

Why on earth are we starting a potential upcoming talent who is at best average P/L at right wing?

I think it has to be an agreetment with his agent: we don't sell to Spurs but you will get an improved extension contract. The thing is Savinho didn't gain that better contract in the field...
 
I have been trying to think of comparable players I.e good technically but slow and can only play on the right

The only player I can think of is Adam Johnson. Johnson is/was better than Savio - that’s not to say Savio can’t improve but he needs to pull his finger out

Presumably because the cheque didn’t clear. If that bid was real, no way it was turned down.
I can understand why we turned down 40ish but no way did we turn down anything like 70. That would be madness

Our wingers are not remotely on the same level as Barca's, Real's, Bayern's or PSG's. It's the main reason we're still not all the way back.
