Today was a big test for him and he passed with flying colours. Cancelo is the real deal. Best player today and arguably our best player this season.
 
He made one mistake (and that’s all it takes in these games) when he just allows Arnold to run in for a shot late in the first half. But other than that, he was clearly MOTM.
 
I really believed he was the weak link, but credit to him, he had a very good game, and pretty much locked up the LB position now.
 
Very good going both ways.

have to fit him in the team wherever at the minute. offered more going forward than sterling once more, one of the few in the side who doesn’t look overdrilled and capable of some spontaneous play we sorely lack.
 
I’d play Ake left back and Cancelo left wing for a game in the CL to see what it’s like. Sterling doesn’t deserve his place in the team at the moment and this lad is really good going forward.
